Can you glue broken patio flags

I had my doubts but it worked fine. The broken slab was 35mm thick and 400mm sq. I stuck it last night held it together with clamps and laid it today. It needed cutting which I normally would have done by cutting half way through and hitting it. Wasnt brave enough on this one so cut all the way...

Can you glue broken patio flags

Well I laid forty Ok but forty one bloody broke. The flags can only be bought in packs so a one off replacement isnt on. The flag is in the corner so a visible crack wont be much of a problem. Is there such a glue? Thanks

    Advice wanted for pebble dashing

Thanks fmck. That's the sort of advice I'm after. Knowing someone else was brave enough is an encouragement and you did far more than this. How big an area did you butter before dashing and how wet was your render before throwing. Bricklaying wet? Also did you wait any time between buttering and...

    Advice wanted for pebble dashing

I'm a fairly confident DIYer. I've got this far with my new patio and I've rendered the scratch coat for pebbledashing with a 4:1 mix but I'm chicken about applying the dash. There seems to be so much that has to be right to get it right. So has anyone attempted pebble dashing and how...

Is there a requirment for the 'Splash strip'

That's the gap between the patio slabs and the house. Some people fill it with pea shingle or stones. Is it required or can the patio slabs butt the house? Thanks

Where can I find step by step instructions to lay a patio?

Thanks Fred it's a mountain of information and I've found enough to answer nearly all of my questions except one: The patio I intend laying will be raised at one end because of a slight slope. I plan to use a brick edging which will mean the bricks at one end will be three bricks high. So do I...

Where can I find step by step instructions to lay a patio?

The area I want to cover is 18.5 sqm but is sloping. One end is a foot higher than the other and I also want a decorative brick edging. So I have some questions. ie how deep would the foundation for the brick edging need to be considering the total low height of the bricks? Or can the foundation...

Advice wanted for a thirties drain.

Hi and thanks. The door is permanent. The top of the new patio will be level with the concrete base of the garage seen on the right behind the yellow hose nozzle. The drain itself is only for waste kitchen and bathroom water not rainwater. The metal cover is for inspection only. Water comes...
