suspicious wires from neighbours next door

Th blow out fuse was removed. never used it since. LOL...I think it was the neighbors fuse for their elec kettle! haha Me thinks, by the looks of it, the black tape was placed by the SP guys, to keep the lose wires together. I might give the neighbours a ring, see if they can renew the...

suspicious wires from neighbours next door

So there is a possibility that one family lived in both houses, and shared the costs of usage. I'm talking 20+ years ago. How common is it that the incoming could get 'Hot' and spark, triggered by high usage by the neighbours? I've not touched to check, or smelt any obvious smell coming...

Nothing regarding that wiring, as I never noticed it until recently. they were from Scottish Power, did a fast job too of the transfer.

suspicious wires from neighbours next door

Hey All. :) I noticed three wires coming into my side of the house from the neighbours side, where our partition wall meets. I had the elec guys over recently, who updated my meter, to a digital readout one. I recognize the yellow as the neighbors earth, but the other two? hummm My...

correct throughbolt for fixing wood to brick

[/url] don't over tighten them? is there a chance that the thread could spin inside the brick? Using body weight would be excessive I agree, but a good snug grip on a washer on the wood piece would suffice I say.

correct throughbolt for fixing wood to brick

Thanks guys. I was tempted o look into resin fixing TBH, but the water content in the bricks is higher than normal, so I was kinda concerned about the adhesion between resin and damp brick. I did some research on thunder bolts, and ended up finding these bad boys. "Lighting bolts"...

correct throughbolt for fixing wood to brick

Hi Jeds. Ceiling beams onto a 7 x 2 inch wood fixed onto the rear brick wall originally I was going to screw the base wood section between the two beams either side, but realized it wouldn't take the weight in a worse case scenario...

correct throughbolt for fixing wood to brick

Hi guys. I could do with guidance on the correct fixing, as I'm fixing a 2" wood to a rear brick wall. the Brick is going to to take moderate amount of strain over time, and I'm guessing, but the internal brick is not Accrington brick, like the second layer brick on the outside. I've seen...

stuck between a rock and a hard place

Thanks for that. It's not major, but the sight of it can have an effect on maintaining a tenant. I branched out as I looked into your links, and found something called "FLEXACRYL / EVERCRYL ONE COAT" I think I've seen this in use too; it has a silicone like finish when dry and was...

stuck between a rock and a hard place

Hi guys. I'm in a bit of a situation where I am trying to lease out my business premises floor space to a local business, but have an issue with the rear wall. An open flagstone yard at the front of my neighbour's house, connects to the rear of my premises. From the pictures you will...
