    Baxi Maxflow Combi RM

Didn't have the airflow monitor neon coming on but it would nearly always shutdown less than a minute after the burner had ignited. I checked everything I could and there seemed to be no reason for its intermittent reliability other than the PCBs I got a new Baxi Maxflow Combi WM main PCB...

    Toothbrush Shaver Socket?

The Braun tooth thingy we've got fits fine in our shaver socket. Is your socket standard size?

Baxi Maxflow Combi WM Not Heating

I got a new Baxi Maxflow Combi WM main PCB, installed it, reset the safety thermostat and slightly adjusted the trimmers; now all seems well. It was just over £100 for the board though. The firmware is slightly different from the old board in that it starts up on CH cycle for 5 secs. then stops...

Baxi Maxflow Combi WM Not Heating

I checked everything I could on our Baxi Maxiflow and there seems to be no reason for its intermittent reliability other than the PCBs. I may fork out for replacements just to see if it works. Will post if I do.

    Repair to Foul Drain

Thanks. I'm tending towards epoxy grout as the faster curing time would mean the drain being out of service for the shortest time.

    Repair to Foul Drain

The drain got blocked because the ceramic glazed half-pipe in the inspection chamber has a piece cracked away from it. Is it o.k. to just bung a bit of pug into the cavity to make the run smooth again, or does the pipe section need replacing? Many thanks in advance.

    Kitchen tap problem

Not sure if this would help with your taps, but I had one with a split splined plastic socket and I bulked up the splined shaft by wrapping insulating tape round it and pushed the tap handle back on it. It lasted for some years, giving enough grip to turn on and off.

Problem finding mixer tap spout seal for, maybe, Creta.

I've been round all the local plumbing supplies shops and cannot obtain a skirted seal for a mixer tap spout . Does anyone know where I might get some? It maybe a Creta tap? Answering my own question: Hopefully got some coming from Sterling Taps.

Baxi Maxflow PRV- not a problem, just a query.

You were also right; the pressure was almost nil in the expansion tank, which probably caused the pressure to rise to the level that caused the old PRV to open and start leaking in the first place. I repressurised the air in the expansion vessel, let the new PRV 'snap' shut and now all seems to...

Many thanks, corgiman. At least they're not expensive, if I have to fit another one!

Baxi Maxflow PRV- not a problem, just a query.

Hi! The punter here. I manualy opened the PRV a little, as I started to re-pressurise, thinking this would expel any air trapped behind the valve. I also ran some more water off through it by manually opening it when it was dripping, in case I'd overpressurised. After that there is no drip. I'd...

Baxi Maxflow PRV- not a problem, just a query.

Having just fitted a brand new PRV on my Baxi Maxflow Combi WM, which is connected to a sealed system, I flushed it through, pressurised the system and turned the heating on. The new valve seemed to be leaking more water past the pressure washer than the old one, until the boiler had been...

    flying ladders

6 a.m. one cold winter Saturday morning I was reversing my milkfloat towards what I thought was a pile of virgin snow in the junction of a T-shaped close. It turned out that the snow had frozen solid and the back wheel lifted up as if going over a ramp. I glanced in the wing mirror to see 700...

    epoxy floor tile grout

I did spread it out like regular grouting and found that I could clean it off the tiles immediately with lots of clean cloth and cellulose thinners; once it has set, I think you're in trouble.

    Any ideas?

If CDs are badly scratched you can restore them by polishing with T-Cut. Make sure all T-Cut is cleaned off before putting in a player!
