Hi thanks for your reply. Number 3 does sound the best to me, when I spoke to my architect who did our drWings, he also sorted our structural
Engineer. He said to me that the steel
Company can supply me te splice details is this correct? Thanks
Hi, I need 2 large 18ft RSJ's for my loft conversion, we are looking at possible ways to get the steels into the loft.
1. lift them ourselves, through several holes in the house. (risky and hard work!)
2. get them craned in, but can be a little expensive and tricky to manoeuvre in the Loft...
Hi.
The dimensions of the room are
10 ft long
8ft wide.
8ft ceiling height.. I guess around 9 or more once loft floor is in.
See the pics attached - the stairs will start roughly where the window is.
There will be a doorway to the left of the window.
they go up 3/4 stairs then...
Oh sorry, I can take pics and dimensions tonight, but it is brick walls, connected to two walls, the first3/4 stairs connecting to wall on the left then turning right the remaining stairs connecting to the left wall again.
hope that makes sense! ha
Hi, thank you very much for getting back to me.
I can do some measurements tonight and come back here. i think the ceiling height is roughly 8 foot but then this will be higher as the loft floor will be increased.

Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help...?
I need to get a couple of pre cast padstones.. I was just wondering on the best place I can get them, I am in Harlow Essex.
Also how much roughly are they?
Thanks for your help.
True, but wouldn't it be down to building contorl to pass it?
So I could use our own made and they say this is not what is stated in the drawings and spec.
see that is what I thought?
Maybe i can speak to the building control to check if they would want me to get pre cast padstones or if I can make them ourselves.
Thanks for your messages.
Thanks. They do indeed look like what I need thank you!! We have already made our own and out the steel on them. I guess we will have to Akro the steel up and replace the padstones. Was worried they meant a metal beam so that is good.
Hi, thanks for your reply. Where would I get a pre cast pad stone from? Could we not make our own? I.e with ballast concrete etc.
Thanks for your time.
