    Portholes

Well, here's first one done, my ideas are always fluid. Plan as I go, or finished sometimes. I'm going to look out for some old ship odds to decorate bells, thick rope, anchors etc. Want a wheel for kids to play with as well. Thanks for ideas all.

I have routed four of these 9mm ply so far, sticking with silicon on one side and sandwidging together. I'm not so sure if it will work but looks good so far. Howether I now like the chunky wood and nautical bolt ideas. May go back to the drawing board. I haven't done floor yet in kitchen...

Will clear silicon it in, but the shelter is not totally watertight anyway, it is just to keep the sun, rain etc of hydro tub so will be partly exposed, with concrete floor. The roof is just shiplap, which I know is not recommended on its own but a few drip in the tub is worth the view of...

Fixed. Shut, no need to open, just porthole for kids to look out of. Bowl out, like when you go to aquarium and kids stick their head in bowl.

Ah yes, the details. Sorry, just trying to get my head round it. Just glass fixed will be fine, and easier I guess. At the moment I am thinking of just cutting two thin ply skirts to sandwhich edges, with maybe blocks in middle to keep straight. If that makes any sense. Have made this, they...

    Hot tub electrics

Hi all, We are saving for a hot tub for my daughter as a means of home hydrotherapy. I am wondering if anyone here knows where I stand in terms of permmision for the electrics. It is an adapted council house managed by east Kent housing and our long term home. I know it needs to be up to spec...

I have salveged the drum and window from dead tumble dryer, made a fire pit from drum and would like to use window as I porthole in this build. And ideas how to mount it? I'm thinking jigsaw a round brace to fit it on, but not sure whether it will work very well?

I'd love to see how you manage that! Surley have to be a soft top version? Im going to use 6x6 posts for looks and strengh. Thinking of bolting 6x2's round top and for rafters, May bolt posts down with metal post supports. And featheredge two sides and top. May see if I can salvage some kind of...

    hot tub shelter

Thank you angelboy, This is the base and view I have, as you can see privacy is the main goal here, and with the size of base already down why it will probably be freestanding. I like the idea of a vent in roof. Do you think moisture would be a problem with apex without gap? I do like the...

    hot tub shelter

Thanks for reply, I wasn't very clear in my post tbh, when I said gazebo I meant a wooden structure I could build. 4 legs of 4x4's and roof structure, or 6x6's. As freestanding needs to be solid design. Need to fit hoist in some how. Not sure whether floor mount or ceiling track yet? I'm yet...

    kitchen worktop idea?

Ah ok, I had read that raising the grain then sanding gives a smoother finish. Also it's important to clear area of dust before waxing so used half dried baby wipes to clean surface. Will give it another go. 👍 Going to tackle my daughter's breakfast bar today. Need to measure her...

    kitchen worktop idea?

I have it sorted now thanks 👍 What I meant is that there was not enough room to fit all three worktops in with required space for biscuits before pushing together. Too Tight. I ended up doing one side with biscuits and dog n bone and other just joined with 'dog n bone'. Joints are...
