    Bleed Valve Issue

Hi I have installed some radiators, they are the old school type. At the top I want to add a bleed valve, so I have put one in and used PTF tape on it etc, now I screwed it in but it leaks, if I screw it to far it will simply fall inside as there is nothing to stop it. Is there a special...

Please bear with me for the length and non-technical speak We have a Gravity fed system with a Glo worm Micron 50ff to provide hot and cold. So we have been away and its been off for a few months, powered it up and the hot water is fine, it heats up and when I run the hot I can hear the...

Gravity Fed Hot and Cold Water - Shower Issues

John Thanks for that, a larger hose is a thought, reading online it does seem that a pump would do the trick , i can see how they work and fitting actually does not seem to difficult - probably get 2 or 3 plumbers to quote and see what happens John B

Gravity Fed Hot and Cold Water - Shower Issues

Hi Thanks for the reply, Im not a plumber so forgive me if the terms I use are incorrect. Currently there is the hot and cold and they are 15mm going to the taps on the bath, and the shower screws on to the top of the taps. looking at the Mira it seems to need its own 2 pipes ? John B

Gravity Fed Hot and Cold Water - Shower Issues

So far this has cost me £60 for a plumber to say I need a pipe from the tank and then a further £360 to do the work (not bad for 2 hours work) and while I can mix the temperature properly the pressure is so poor its useless. Pointers appreciated. John B

Gravity Fed Hot and Cold Water - Shower Issues

Hi So I have posted before with an issue because the shower which is attached to the main bath taps could not mix properly, apparently it was an uneven pressure issue - so a plumber has run a new feed fro the cold water from the tank in the attic (it was from the main before) and he charged...

    Uneven Pressure

Err is this a stupid thought, I understand the need for the balanced supply, if I had a tap under the bath on the cold water supply could I simply use that to reduce the cold flow, as its the cold that's a higher pressure than the hot John B

Hi I want to buy a vanity unit with sink that is wall mounted, the wall i will mount it on is brick. The design means I need to recess the pipes into the wall. Is that a difficult job and are there any issues I should watch out for. Regards John B

    Uneven Pressure

I did post before but was not very clear so here goes. Have moved into a new house and the plumbing is like this. Boiler in kitchen, immersion heater first floor, massive tank in loft which seems to have cold water in it and small tank in loft with hot water in it. Central heating and hot...

    Shower head Issues

Not sure, there is a boiler downstairs which seem to be for central heating. In an upstairs bedroom (same level as the bathroom) is an immersion heater Then in the attic there is a rather large tank (not looked inside) but I see a pipe from that to a small tank If your correct about the...
