    siren battery

Thanks for reply madman. I've already ordered one for delivery. Could you elaborate on the fault with them in sunlight. My house is south facing so on the odd occasions we get the sun, it would be directly onto box.

Thanks for replying sparkymarka. I will take battery out. At least the LED's will still be on as a deterrent.

    siren battery

Just on the same subject Bonni, is it possible to take the battery out and just run on the mains power with no siren back up battery while I wait for a new siren to be delivered or would that trigger a fault?

Thanks for reply Bonni. Will have a look for a new box. Old one looks a bit weathered now.

    siren battery

I need to replace the back up battery in my reson8 bell box. The battery is a 6v 280mah battery. The place where I can get a replacement is out of stock. They have 7.2 v 320mah in stock though. Would this be suitable or would the extra voltage cause a problem. Thanks in advance.

    wago 222 connectors

Thanks for taking time to reply magicmushroom. Ill give the wago a go. A sparkie told me to twist the wires together about 10 years ago when I fitted original. Never had a false alarm but looks a mess and always thought it would bite me on the backside. Thanks again.

    wago 222 connectors

Hi. I am in the process of replacing my alarm control box when connecting the tamper wires in series, i.e connecting the yellow to the next green etc, is it adequate to twist the wires together and tape as I did when I originally installed my alarm or could I connect the wires with wago 222...

    Honeywell PIR

Thanks for the reply scureiam. The PCB is properly secured. The piece that has come off is the sensitivity adjuster. Get your point about peace of mind. Not expensive and not worth false alarms. Thanks for taking time to reply.

    Honeywell PIR

I've just changed a PIR on my alarm system today and have inadvertently broke off the sensor adjustment screw. How critical is this part and if I'd fit it without it will I have problems. the part resembles a tiny plastic Phillips screw head and it literally snapped off as I touched it. the...

    Urfurt Mav Nature Rock

Looking to buy some Urfurt Mav Nature Rock online at about £6 a roll to decorate a room and wondered if anyone had used it. I have a couple of questions. I was wondering if this paper has a built in lining paper on the pasting side like Super Fresco and although it recommends a ready mixed...

    Sizing walls prior to papering.

Cheers for reply Robbie. Worth bearing in mind when I next decorate. My walls are powdery so will size with normal mix paste.

    Sizing walls prior to papering.

Just a query for any pro's reading this post. I was at my son in law' s dad's house today and he was sizing his living room wall with normal mix paste prior to lining. He said he preferred that method than watering down to a thin mix to minimise splashes, particularly on the ceiling. He also...

    Supporting bath at base.

Many thanks. Will use the legs. I bought the bath from Home base Mogget. I have found it to be poor quality in general with a small crack on rim behind taps. The wooden battening is very poor and splitting. Nothing I can do though as I have stored in spare room for few months waiting for chance...

    Supporting bath at base.

This may sound like a silly question but does a new bath have to be supported by the supplied legs or would battening and securing the rim and chocking the base up with wood suffice. About to fit a bath but I don't have much confidence in the preattached battens under the rim that the top of the...

    Papering prep for plasterboard wall.

Thanks. Would the Gardz alone act as a size for the lining paper?

    Papering prep for plasterboard wall.

Thanks for the quick reply.I am not too sure about the finish yet. Will see how the lining paper looks. The paste is Urfurt Mav and is compatible with the lining paper. I wasn't sure if I should thin the ready mixed paste down as a size or just use the solvite flake size.
