    Worcester 35 cdi boiler fault

How long are you running the tap for bearing in mind there will be a small amount of cold water remaining in the pipework until the boiler kicks in and begins to heat the hot water. Usually allow 30 seconds or so if it is a long pipe run. One way to check is to open the taps then go to the...

Shower with Jets & condensing boiler?

Personally I would recommend an unvented hot water system for that type of shower, especially if you have excellent cold mains pressure. As far as the boiler goes, I'd go for a vaillant or Worcester Bosch System Boiler.

    Carbon monoxide

Unless you live on a main road with all the windows open then you should only expect a background CO reading of 1-2 parts per million (PPM) The World Health Organisation state that readings in excess of 30PPM are dangerous (If investigating a CO incident we evacuate at this point). 100PPM...

    drayton valve problem

Sounds like your valve is passing, reasonably common and likely if your CH system wasn't flushed properly when it was installed. There is not a great deal of movement on the spindle with a 3port valve. Sounds like you need a new valve body mate.

    Super challenging problem with heating

Sounds like a blocked cold feed pipe to me, easiest way to check is to open the system drain cock and see if the header tank drains.

    Time To Change My System

you'll be looking at about 4.5k all in i expect. your initial research is fine but dont hit the installer with "I can get the materials for x amount" because they'll likely turn and walk away. By all means specify the boiler/cylinder/controls but let the installer supply and fit. If you...

    Joining the BG Club

I'm an ex-BG engineer and I have no problem with the engineers or the work that they do. I was a BG apprentice, one of the first new batch in 1999. BG as a company are no longer serving the needs of their customers and as some point out, they are more interested in selling new boilers and...

    Safe, legal flue position

I may be wrong but it looks like this has been photoshopped. Look at the brickwork around the flue, it looks like an old BF terminal has been there before which of course it couldn't have been due to the rainwater pipe. Anyone else think this is a wind-up?
