    Roof Lantern Lower Corner Loose

The actual glass panel whilst I agree there should be some clearance around its perimeter it seems like it isn’t clamped down due to being able to pull up on the glass at the bottom. How is it clamped? Is it the pressure of the rafter cap or is there something below this? There appears to be a...

    Roof Lantern Lower Corner Loose

Thanks for that It looks like the lower hinge may have broken and the rest of it is still inside the rafter, judging by photos off google for a CRS8201. It’s very difficult to look up the rafter as the whole roof unit is sat inside a parapet wall so getting a look up is impossible. I’ll try with...

    Roof Lantern Lower Corner Loose

Many thanks for your help. One of the caps came off the other day by accident. It appears to be siliconed onto the end of the rafter. See pics. Says eurocell on the back

    Roof Lantern Lower Corner Loose

Hi Guys Any ideas? I’ve since realised you can slide the whole panel up and down by around an inch or so. What holds the panels in place? Are they bonded in?

    Roof Lantern Lower Corner Loose

Hi Everyone I hope I have posted this in the right section as technically it is a roof but a UPVC window also. I have an orangery with a UPVC roof lantern. Today I was clearing the box gutter around the parapet wall and noticed the lower corner of the roof lantern could be lifted up, and you...

Easiest way of removing a 40mm pipe through a wall

Thanks for all your help guys. Managed to do it all in 2 hours. I broke the old elbow off and hit the end with a lump hammer. Slowly but surely it pushed back into the house. New one went in a breeze.

Easiest way of removing a 40mm pipe through a wall

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I'm tempted to try the heat gun to remove the old elbow, that would save a massive amount of time!

Easiest way of removing a 40mm pipe through a wall

Thanks Ian, I'm kinda working blind as I can't see anything behind the surface so I'm curious what kind of hold the foam will have on the pipe. Ideally I was thinking of some way of cutting the foam out by passing a wire through and then using it like a knife to trim round the circumference of...

Easiest way of removing a 40mm pipe through a wall

Hi Everyone, Someone has attempted to gain entry to my house by standing on my 40mm waste pipe from my kitchen sink which comes through the wall as a straight pipe, immediately bends 90deg and then runs down to the soil stack. In true bad luck fashion it has broken right on the 90deg elbow which...

Above window wet after heavy rain

Hi guys. Thought I'd post back with the findings. The other night I went into the bathroom after wife had been in for one of her 20 minute showers. Walls were wet through and window was ajar. Turns out the moisture was running down above the window and collecting on the lip where the wall met...

Above window wet after heavy rain

Thanks for your help thus far chaps. Its now dark but I've just hung out the window to try and get a view of above. I have UPVC fascias and soffits which are in line with the top of the window frame. You cannot see any brickwork because of this. Excuse the dirt, not had time to clean these yet...

Above window wet after heavy rain

Hi guys, I've recently moved into a new house (1973) and noticed that when it rains heavy the top of the bathroom window gets wet. Specifically its on the external corner between the wall and the top of the reveal. I've attached a photo showing. It seems strange that its only confined to this...

Discharge outlet on sink trap connection

Hello, 2 years ago when I bought a dishwasher I connected it to my sink drain. Its a double sink and each drain has an unused smaller threaded outlet that was capped off using a plastic cap. I went to B&Q and could only find 40mm versions of what I wanted (an elbow which screws on and gives me a...

Tiles over floorboards - condensation issues

Hello I have a single story extension at the rear of my semi. The new floor is concrete and this meets with the original timber suspended floor from the 1930s. The kitchen is the extension and the entire floor is tiled, these tiles extend partly onto the wooden floor, carpet then continuing on...
