    worcester 240 rsf h/w prob

Sounds like the diverter valve has gone, if you open the front pannel there is a microswitch attached to the diverter on the bottom left, when hot water is run, does the pin come all the way out and depress the switch (should click) If not leave water running and press the switch yourself, if...

    fitting a shower (water supply)

Not sure on building regs, but cant image why you should not. If you have a heating storage tank not a combi, go for hot/cold supply with thermostat and an inline pump, so much better than the electric cold feed so called power showers.

Will check to see if sensors are giving a varied output to the PCB (any ideas what the range should be?) If they do output a varied range, will try a new PCB, at £92 its not too bad.

    Worcester 240 too hot

Don't like the sound of PCB problem, they cost £70. How could i be sure if this? What outputs should change? (voltage changes etc) Could it be the Gas regulator? would obviously get Corgi guy to change that if it was needed.

    Worcester 240 too hot

When i say it is still functioning, i mean that it is electrically, ie it changes resistance (0-256 ohms) but it has no effect on the boilers water temperature output.

    Worcester 240 too hot

It heats both HW and CH till its steaming, way too hot to touch! There is a temperature regulating variable resistor on from that makes no change to the temperature, but it is still functioning.

Water is always burning hot, temp control makes no difference, but the electrics of it are funtioning fine. Could it be the diverter or microswitch?
