    Tackling Worn Varnish

    The only real option you have is to sand the existing varnish down. You may be able to get away with a 120 grit light sand. (Could use a buffer with a 120 mesh) As for possible products, I would recommend a polyurethane based lacquer, Bona Traffic comes to mind.

    Hi, you should be fine without priming the ply. you also may want to consider a PU based adhesive, Lecol 5500 really smells.

    best solution would be fix ply to the existing floor and glue the parquet down on to it. Use a glue like Sikabond 54 or similar for the parquet
