    CATA e 100 extract fan

Has anyone here installed a CATA extract fan, the e100 cgh model with the glass front and LED temperature and humidity display in their bathroom lately? I have just put one in my new bathroom and not sure how it should function. I would've thought it would display the temp and humid values...

    NEFF Washer/Dryer not draining

Hi Zipper Thanks very much for your assistance with this, there was no noticeable magnetic resistance when I turn the pump impeller, in fact it spins quite freely, also there is no up down movement. I asked about the front cover because the securing clamp screw head on the large black drum...

    NEFF Washer/Dryer not draining

Hey Zipper Thanks for the reply  , It's an /07. I've had it on it's side, removed the bottom cover panel and blew blew air through the drain hose to the sink proving it clear, blew air through the drum side which has cleared the problem for now, but obviously this will re-occur once...

    NEFF Washer/Dryer not draining

Hi Everyone :) I own a NEFF V5340X2GB combination washer/dryer, keep getting an error code E 06 which is drainage related. Pump running no probs, drain to sink not blocked. There is obviously something blocking a pipe within the machine. My question is, does anyone have specific...

Franke Monobloc Tap Won't Switch Off

I am the not so very proud owner of a rather expensive Franke Monobloc Mixer Tap which won't switch off the hot water. The tap itself has a substantial solid stainless steel base mounted on the kitchen worksurface, gooseneck spout comes out the top and two barrels enter into the side of the...

cant work this one out! Help please

 ..........methinks your subject has been hijacked a little, to answer your question, most of the stuff you use in your house doesn't care which way you plug it in, but for safety's sake you need to keep all of the protective and switching devices in the positive side of the circuit...

cant work this one out! Help please

Dead Right ! In fact, in an AC current there is absolutely no nett movement of electrons whatsoever, go figure THAT one out, EASY PEASY actually, because the electrons move with the electromagnetic field i.e. back and forth on the positive negative waveform ! .....which brings us...

cant work this one out! Help please

...I feel like I'm in the Monty Python 'argument sketch' Yes, I couldn't agree with you more!, there are constant developments and changes in theory, none more so than in the field of sub atomic particle identification. If you cast your mind back to the way we were taught about atomic...

cant work this one out! Help please

....In fact, if we go back to our basic college days chaps, we all know that - is in fact + !, because electrons flow from negative to positive. How F###ed up is that? And you know why they taught all that ****e to us? Because the books had been printed before the thoery was proven to be...

    outdoor electrics

I wouldn't recommend installing fixed outdoor sockets via a plug in RCD for the simple fact someone could remove the plug in and go direct into an mcb protected socket. That is a REAL widowmaker. Anything outside of the equipotential zone is potentially lethal. Don't take a chance. Install...

    oil on driveway

I had a similar problem on my block pavia driveway, tried 3 bottles of GUNK from halfords, improved it but by NO means removed the stain, don't waste your money on that stuff. Cured mine by removing the affected blocka and replacing with new.

    Kitchen floor tiles, ceramic damage

Hi there everyone Got a ceramic tiled kitchen floor and it has a number of battle scars from my good lady drop testing those big heavy cast iron pans on it. ( can't possibly be my fault ! ). Small chips about the size of a 5p coin, or less. Does anyone know of an off the shelf product...

Extending lighting cable by about two feet

I think not ! Any concealed junction in a cable should be at LEAST soldered, and even then you're gambling.
