Hi all, I have an area in my garden which is a real eyesore. It is approx 1.25 x 2.5 metres. I was wondering whether I could try to build a small decking area over it but i have no idea how to prep the area first. It is full of rubble and also has a drain manhole and the concrete frame around it...

As it is a horrible mess but quite a small area, I really don't mind having a go at a repair - I figure I can't make it look any worse!

Not honestly sure. Long term plan is to knock down and replace but not for a few years. I guess short term I'd like a low cost cosmetic repair that it sealed against furry friends.

I think that is exactly what was done. Now you remind me, it used to have some sort of Hessian like material over the triangle.

Thanks but wouldn't this then affect all sockets and lights rather than just the one circuit I switched on and off? I have power everywhere else in the house.

I was going to change a ceiling light at the weekend and was checking which switch would isolate the lights.

Hi all, I switched off the downstairs light circuit at the consumer unit, switched back on and now none of the lights on the circuit are working. I've put a new bulb in one light just to check they hadn't all blown for some reason - no joy. Any advice on what usually causes this issue...
