Hi again guys, Sorry for the delay updating the thread, I have not been around until now. So I tested the system for leaks by using a large bucket above my head and repeatedly filling it. There was no leaks at all, but on the tiles instantly... So I am certain it is the tiles... I have had...

Mystery Leaking tiles - any advice?

Thanks Wayners :) There was an issue with the mixer in the past. So I will also inspect that area again more closely when I go tomorrow. But mainly the leak is coming from the corner of the shower. But it could be leaking down the ridges in the tiles :)

Mystery Leaking tiles - any advice?

I thought that we were talking about something like this tile backer: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Knauf-AQUAPANEL%C2%AE-Board---12-5-x-900-x-1200mm/p/207027?fix=&gad_source=1 But it is an all in one decorative plastic they plan to install, like this...

Mystery Leaking tiles - any advice?

Thanks again Freddiemercurystwin! I thought he was going to tile on top of the plastic, but it seems he plans to use the plastic only version. I am not sure about this as I think it may look cheap. But I will see what he proposes. My thought about the tiles was the he could do around the base...

Hi Alec and Fredimercurystwin, Thanks for your thoughts! But the system is mains fed and when the shower head is held high on the opposing shower screen there is no leak. It really is just that one area that has the leak. I have just spoken with my builder and they are going to have another...

Mystery Leaking tiles - any advice?

Thanks Yorksbuilder. I have had a lot of tradesmen out to look at this issue, which has been very tricky So, to be clear, the wall behind the shower controls goes into a bedroom, the wall down the long side of the bath is an external wall. So first there was a leak behind the shower in the...

Thanks Bonni, I was afraid it was going to come to that... It is just a shame as it is a large tiled wall and bath that is in excellent condition other than this issue...

Mystery Leaking tiles - any advice?

Thanks for the information Yorksbuilder! Unfortunately, the tiles came laid in the house when I bought it. So I don't know what is behind the tiles. I have included a video below that shows the leak beneath the bath, which is running water, and under there it looks like it is a brick surface...

Mystery Leaking tiles - any advice?

Hi Opps, So this leak is showing mainly downstairs in the kitchen where it is dribbling out of the sealing and the wall beneath it. The leak is running down the side wall which is external. Then onto the floor beneath the bath and into the two rooms beneath. There is no clear indication on the...

Mystery Leaking tiles - any advice?

Hi Bonni, Thanks for your reply! No the leak only happens when the shower is sprayed onto the tiles. If the shower head is left in the bath, there is no leak. So it's not the input or drainage of water... The leak only occurs from about half way up the wall also. The lower tiles are ok...

Hi, Thanks for your help :) I had the original issues with my Puma 80e diagnosed by Pottertons Heateam. But no one else has come to inspect the unit yet. My thought had been that as they included the flush and installation as part of the package there would have been little else to...

Thankyou for your help! First, do you mind if i ask what model combi you replaced it with ? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what was the cost of the system? Second, the warranty company has agreed to pay for half the heat exchange. If I have to have the system flushed anyway, is...

    Potterton Puma 80e / 90e Repair / Replace?

Hi all, I have a Potterton PUMA Boiler, either 80 or 90e. It has a blocked heat exchange and a Sludge issue. Do you think I should look to replace the boiler, or have the issue repaired. The boiler was covered by a warranty team, and they have agreed to cover 50% of the cost...
