Worcester 30 CDI Greenstar Pulsating Noise

I am responding to this thread despite its age because there is nothing about "map pump step" on the web and I am keen to try and understand more from this poster. Dill, I took your advice and had a look at this on my WB 30 CDi. Can you advise what the individual steps (2 to 7) do, how I...

Water running across sealant at bottom of glass shower screen and onto floor

The two tray edges into that corner are pretty level. Anyone got any suggestions please? Particularly any products I could put on the edge to stop water flow past it?

Water running across sealant at bottom of glass shower screen and onto floor

I did think that. The water in the tray does seem to drain down the waste at the opposite end and the other long side of the tray doesn't have the same issue though - bowed/warped tray possibly? Will get a spirit level on there and revert if it's not level

Water running across sealant at bottom of glass shower screen and onto floor

Hi there. Have searched but not found anything similar so here goes. I had a shower tray and screen recently installed, with the screen sitting on the tray. The bottom of the screen was sealed on the outside of where it sits on the shower tray. When used, water travelled from left to right...

Install concrete slotted fence posts so they are removable?

I've inherited a garden with wooden fencing and wooden posts to approximately 5' 4" (5' panels on approx 4" wood gravel boards). Inevitably, some of the wood posts have rotted so I will be re-installing the fence using existing panels that are sound and concrete slotted posts (which are...

Layer(s) below resin bound surface on existing bases

(originally posted in Building forum, at //www.diynot.com/diy/threads/layers-below-resin-bound-surface-on-existing-bases.432746/, but probably more relevant here - post slighted edited here) Hello all. Had a good search before posting but couldn't find anything similar - if you are aware...

Layer(s) below resin bound surface on existing bases

Hello all. Had a good search before posting but couldn't find anything similar - if you are aware of this being answered before, please redirect me! I am planning on putting down a patio finished using resin bound aggregate. The existing surface is a split of two areas: 1) secured and...

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Many thanks again D_H for your post. I did ask in another thread but got no response - my gut did tell me I need as near to 20C as I can get and will attempt this rebalancing soon. Yes I did read this blog before I attempted my rebalancing a few months ago, though my understanding from last...

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

It could, however I have previously reduced the output to 11. I think the actual problem here, after balancing my rads with around a 12C drop across most of them, is the insufficient difference between the flow and return temperatures - and therefore the boiler regulating. I have "rebalance...

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Apologies to you, @D_Hailsham, for the lateness in coming back on this. However, I can confirm that the boiler fires (when CH only in operation) whilst the temperature is higher than the set point, and I have witnessed it in two different circumstances: 1) boiler fires, flow temp...

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Agree, however I would imagine it is (b), though I will see what mine does if I can monitor carefully enough. It behaves per your checklist, though there is some play nearest the Auto end. It looks older than the HW valve so I may look to check/replace that as and when I do the same with the...

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Pass  If it occurs again, I'll go and eyeball the boiler. Ah OK, makes sense. And the flame symbol would appear regardless of whether the boiler fired too? Two.

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Yes, I think that was what I meant by my comment, but I sh/could have included some more prose around it to be perfectly clear! Will update my post. In reality, I'm likely to have an unvented cylinder installed so I'd hope this issue would go away. UPDATE: I have just witnessed the stat...

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Wow, I did not know that. I suppose, should I replace the boiler in the future, I'd want to get a separate HW and CH controllers on the boiler to circumvent this issue. I will adjust HW times based on this info and report back - many thanks.

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Yep, OP edited to reflect. I'll monitor and report back - gut feel would be Short. Yes, should I make the run times mutually-exclusive? Two Yes, in fact it's probably set a little under, though I recall it did the same before I started balancing/limiting output (below the default of 30)...

Programmer still firing boiler despite set point achieved

Kit: three monthly old Honeywell Sundial RF2 pack 2 controlling a Vaillant 428 boiler for central heating and hot water stored in cylinder I hope this is not too dumb a question! I would have assumed that, when a central heating ON program is current, if the set point of the wireless room...

Attempting to balance rads with condensing (Vaillant) boiler

I started the second part of the balancing this morning and have managed to get all the rads but two to have around a 12C drop. The two exceptions were both with a difference of 16C+ at the start and despite ending up opening the valves fully (expecting them to be the end of the run), they...

Attempting to balance rads with condensing (Vaillant) boiler

So I set flow to 75 I set d0 to 8 - rad 1 seemed to struggle getting to sufficient temperature. Set d0 to 12 and that seemed to work well (I vaguely remember reading these as agreeable values, though as I said earlier I will work out a correct output value for my rads and adjust d0...

Attempting to balance rads with condensing (Vaillant) boiler

I took your advice (thank you) and did this today. Two of the rads didn't get hot at the lockshield valve so I had to up the flow. I believe I am making progress, however unfortunately I took so long the boiler reached the point it turned off regardless of the power output/temperature! I'll...

Attempting to balance rads with condensing (Vaillant) boiler

The main problem *was* the boiler cutting out, however your next suggestion, and Agile's post, helped me to get past that. I have read this before and will look to reduce the power accordingly in the near future. House doesn't have a big problem heating up as such, though the back room is...
