Further to earlier thread re dripping from pipe

 Well we don't have the rushing sound through the pipes now but the pump is still humming a nice song. I will ring plumber tomorrow and see when he can come out - here's hoping he can make it whisper again. Thanks again for all help and responses

Further to earlier thread re dripping from pipe

Thanks for your reply Onetap. The pressure is at just a little bit over 1 when cold and hasn't dropped at all since all this started. Another thing to report is that when the boiler fires up we can hear water/air rushing through the pipes. Is there anything we can do to sort this out...

Green/blue liquid dripping from external pipe (boiler)

Ah! Okay thanks John D. I do have someone coming out soon to sort out the condensate pipe (SWALEC Shield engineer told me installer has installed incorrect size pipe) and if the dripping is still present I will ask him to take a look. Many thanks :)

Green/blue liquid dripping from external pipe (boiler)

Thanks for your reply gigz. The system doesn't need topping up regularly. The last time I topped up was after we had a little leak and that was about 14 months ago. The heating is on at the mo and I've just checked the pressure. It's at a little bit over 2.

Green/blue liquid dripping from external pipe (boiler)

Can anyone help with this please? I noticed yesterday a small pool of green/blue liquid on the ground outside. It is coming out of one of the pipes that comes from the boiler. Here's a quicky history. We have an Ariston Eco Combi 27 MFFI boiler which was installed 2 years ago to...

Ariston Eco Combi 27MFFI - The Saga :-)

Some of you may remember on 1st December I wrote on here to say that my brand new Ariston Eco Combi 27 MFFI boiler was making a horrendous humming racket that could be heard in every room of our house, including the kitchen/basement. I just want to post the conclusion on here. That's right -...

    Air getting into radiators

Hello! Had a new boiler installed at the start of December. Straight to the point - about 2 weeks after installation I noticed the rad in the upstairs front bedroom and the upstairs bathroom were cooler at the top than the bottom - so I bled the rads and that was fine. 2 weeks later only...

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

My installer has said it is NOT normal - he has fitted this model in previous houses and they do NOT have the problem that I seem to be having. It's so nice to see that some people can be so compassionate.

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

 Whatever BDL. My installer has said that this is not normal and he is in the process of sorting it out. If you don't have anything constructive to say then keep your sarcastic comments to yourself. I'm just trying to get things sorted and I thought that coming on here would give me...

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

It's not so much the noise in the bedroom although that is a problem when the heating kicks in during the early morning (6am). It's the noise of the pump I can hear in our living room that bothers me. You can even hear the hum in the kitchen which is 2 floors underneath where the boiler is...

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

I've had enough and turned the heating off. Thank god it's not that cold outside. We had visitors earlier and the first thing they asked (when sitting down in the living room) was "what's that humming noise?" I've had a good cry so feeling less tense but I know there is something wrong with...

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

:( I am seriously considering pulling the boiler off the wall and buying oil filled radiators to put in each room of the house and use the kettle for hot water. All I can hear is this humming and it's doing my head in. I can't relax in my own home. I know I must sound like I'm...

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

 The pipes are boxed in, I just put my ear on the box. Roll on old age I guess  Sorry to keep on but it really did my head in this morning. It's like I can't escape from the hum. Please tell me I'll get used to it

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

Well even though I thought i was getting used to the humming, I was eating my brekkie this morning and I was very tempted to put a sledgehammer to the entire system :x It is quite loud in the bedroom but I guess that's to be expected but surely I wouldn't hear the continuous humming (like a...

Brand new boiler - 1 day old - problems already

So would the cupboard need a vent? I'm getting used to the noise now. It's amazing how quick you can get used to something!
