Damp lean to brickwork - high patio

Thanks for the advice. I haven’t got the budget to remove and rebuild. So I am going to remove the patio slabs and see if that improves the situation at least the water won’t be sitting against the brickwork in the channel.

Patio and lean to conservatory damp brickwork

Have an existing lean to conservatory that the previous owners installed. looks like there was an existing concrete surface in the garden. Then the lean to was built onto that then Lino laid on top. Then someone laid a patio on top of the concrete surface outside which has raised the ground...

Damp lean to brickwork - high patio

Hi the brickwork of my lean to is damp and has algae on which also spreading to floor. I know the patio has been laid too high by previous owners, but they have cut a channel out. This just fills up with rainwater and makes the bricks wet. The brick wall seems to be single skin. I’m not sure...

    Asbestos ?

Thanks for your replies. I realised only way to know for sure was to have it tested. Got the results back and it did turn out to be Asbestos cement board (chrysotile - white asbestos). Which is at least the lowest risk to handle therefore the cheapest asbestos type to have removed.

    Asbestos ?

Have removed some fitted wardrobes. Seems there is a section of the exterior wall that is boarded rather than solid as per rest. It’s a Victorian House. Can any tell from pic below if this is asbestos sheet?

    Asbestos insulation board or plasterboard

Hi have removed some old built in wardrobes. Seems the external wall behind it has a section that is boarded rather than solid as the rest of wall. It looks like quite a strange board material (woven). Does anyone know if this is asbestos from the photos?

Wall socket moved, is it ok to plaster?

The old double socket was half behind a brick fireplace so only one socket was accessible. So I wanted the double socket moved out from behind the fireplace. I am planning to replace the brick in the fireplace. The blank plate was just a way for me to fix the problem myself. But as there are...

Wall socket moved, is it ok to plaster?

I guess what I'm wondering is, is it a fire hazard etc if I put a blank plate on top and fill around the edges? As I would rather not have to pay another spark to do the job again.

Wall socket moved, is it ok to plaster?

Looks like I need to get someone else to this job properly then. As all I would be able to do is put on the blank plate.

Wall socket moved, is it ok to plaster?

Would the double blanking plate make it safe by showing someone where the wires are?

Wall socket moved, is it ok to plaster?

I'm not sure if it is earthed etc, it just looked like a bodge job to me. I don't have any electrical knowledge.
