Asbestos ?

Have removed some fitted wardrobes. Seems there is a section of the exterior wall that is boarded rather than solid as per rest. It’s a Victorian House. Can any tell from pic below if this is asbestos sheet?

Thanks for your replies. I realised only way to know for sure was to have it tested. Got the results back and it did turn out to be Asbestos cement board (chrysotile - white asbestos). Which is at least the lowest risk to handle therefore the cheapest asbestos type to have removed.

Asbestos cement is far better than AIB in terms of risk, and removal cost.

I removed asbestos containing artex myself as a home project with relatively low resolution gear, I followed the HSE guidelines to the letter for the exact scenario.
I've not removed asbestos cement board, and I'm not suggesting you do or if you're considering doing it ; in terms of cost you're talking a few hundred quid for specialist removal and in the meantime don't feel squeamish about working around it. You did the sensible thing .by testing it and not taking a hammer to it, many would have.
It would be interesting to see what you pay and perhaps you would be kind enough to document the process here. I'm always fascinated by how contaminated waste is managed from start to finish and I'm sure others are too. My asbestos was the same as yours - chrysotile.

When I was getting fitted wardrobes installed, the company insisted that an asbestos test was carried out on the Artex, however the company should have really paid for it considering it was their requirements in my opinion. Fortunately there wasn't any asbestos in the Artex, and I had to pay £70 to get it tested and analysed.

It's the building owner's responsibility for asbestos testing. You need to prove to the contractor that your building is safe to work in.

Thats very true, and I did make sure it was safe before any work was carried out. However, the problem is that I had to pay to get it done, when the company should have paid for the sample to be taken considering it was their requirement. I live in a 95 build house, and it's not likely that Asbestos is present, even the surveyor who came was very confident the result would come back clear. I know there is a legal requirement to survey any building built before 2000, and I think it's good to see tradespeople taking the risks seriously. I have seen many tradespeople drill into walls and ceilings and not giving a second thought.

Even on million pound contacts, it is always the client that pays for asbestos reports which are then given to the contractor.

It's a new one on me. When I had the extension done, the builder payed for a test on soffits.
