    Thank you for your replies, the surface is silk paint so I blue grit it and pva that before skimming. I dont think i'm getting the timing right to do the final trowelling this is usually done when brown patches are forming.

    Hello, I am not a decorator I'm a roofer but could any decorators tell me how I could make the seams on white wallpaper less visible. This even happens when I do lining paper even before its dried. The seams are a dark colour even though it is a good butt joint. Thanks guys
