Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

Thanks. I'll have a look. I've never used one, just thought the stuff for domestic use more for show and you couldn't get the benefit without some sort of industrial / commercial quality expense.

Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

Thanks, that's a really good idea. Someone else recommended them but I thought they were a bit of a con. Any you recommend ? Do you just get one on Amazon or does it have to be a HEPA air filter?

Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

So is this just a square / box fan? Would that be better than a ducted fan?

Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

You're right, that's why I'm asking for input here so I can have the conversation now before they begin. If it's reasonable for me to ask and for me to pay the cost (if not already included in their quote) then that's fine and that's what I've learnt. If it's standard for them to include all...

Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

It's at one end of the house and they'll build a frame with a door to partition that section off, seal the gaps. but inevitably yes, the door will open for breaks and access. How else can it be done?

Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

I have about the dust being vented out. but i suspect when it comes to it, it won't be followed precisely and doors will open spreading **** all over the place. haven't asked about cutting / sanding outside yet. Do you think i'm asking something unreasonable?

Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

Thank you, my ceiling is the same. I'm worried about the mess. I have been looking at the ducted fans - I was thinking of a 12" 3600m3/hr. which seems pretty powerful. what did you use? i don't mind paying for that if it will help. If i duct this out the window, do i need to seal up the...

Dust control equipment hire - house renovation

I'm about to have a ceiling removed in an old victorian house, as well as other refurb work done (new bathrooms), lots of tiling, general decoration, ceiling repairs etc. etc. 3 months worth and I'll be living in the property but I'm very sensitive to dust - eye and lung issues. The...

Waste disposal unit / quooker tap problem

I’ve been waiting to reply to this - I recently had the whole set up taken apart. It may not be the same problem as yours. 6 years worth of accumulated food watse had blocked the waste pipe so any new waste was being forced back up the nearest outlet (in this case the quooker). Now it’s...

    shower drainage - intermittent problem

Hi, I have a drainage problem in the shower which I'd really appreciate some help with. The drainage during a shower is so slow that the water will come up to the top of the tray (3-4 inches). It will then drain away after 5-10 seconds when the shower is turned off. The weird thing is, I...

    shower trap / slow drain

Every 6 months or so my shower begins to drain slowly. Now and again a standard chemical will keep it flowing but this time the chemicals haven’t really helped and may actually have made it worse. I would prefer to us a drain snake / rod spring type thing. What I don’t’ understand is how...

    sash window leak

Thanks Gazman, i don't think it's the sealant - they used CT1 frame sealant both inside and outside and in the box itself. I was just trying to see if there was some underlying fault that anyone might be aware of. i can attach photos but not sure they'll help much - it just looks like a...

    sash window leak

Hi All, Looking for some help on a problem I’ve been struggling with for about 5 years. 2011 I had new double glazed timber sash windows fitted to replace old draughty single glazed sash. I had the whole box replaced and masonry, architraving made good etc. The work seemed to be good. I...

Traps / drainage / smells. please help

SOLVED.. Nige F is a clairvoyant. it was a dead rat. I've had no smells for 3 weeks now. I took up the floorboards again today, 4 weeks after my last post. Nice dead rat waiting for me in the trap just as an aside, the smell was only bad for about ten days, reaching a peak and then totally...

    Paving / Drainage problem

Hi all. I've recently had my front drive paved. It's a steep slope. In one patch, after rainfall, it gets very discoloured and mucky looking. Almost like the ground underneath is waterlogged and the water is rising up. What can I do to fix it? House and pipes underneath have been tested. No...

Traps / drainage / smells. please help

I can't believe I'm updating this but I still seem to have new problems - and now I'm really out of ideas. since the pipe was capped there appears to be a general odour that's in the house. present in the bathroom and hallway and all over really apart from bedrooms. All I'm certain about...
