Hi all - long story so please bear with me.
I believe my system is a gravity fed HW/pumped CH system.
A couple of years ago I replaced my old mechanical programmer with a Drayton Tempus 1 - The old programmer had a HW/CH and HW only switch but this never seemed to work in summer, etc so...
Thanks for the responses.
Sorry for any confusion - I have only just carried out the work so it has not been happening for 10 weeks.
I cannot actually pinpoint the noise but it seems to be in the pipework at the rear of the house - back bedroom (where the immersion/header tanks are) & also...
Thanks for the reply.
After checking the header tank it appeared that the ball valve was leaking so instead of replacing the washer, I replaced the whole valve including ball & arm which cured the leak.
Now 30 seconds after I turn on a hot tap I get a noise (kettling ?) through the...
Just wondering if any of you guys could shed some light on this problem.
I have a Gloworm Space Saver 38 (Yeah, old I know !) in the kitchen & a hot water cylinder/tank in the back bedroom. We have the heating on quite a bit as it heats the water up in the tank - I think ? The Gloworm doesn't...
Thanks for your advice.
I think i'll look into it further - as the immersion is only used on a limited basis I may just opt for its own seperate timer as getting a dual channel requires some re-wiring too.
I'll get back to you if I need further assistance.
If anyone else wants to add...
Hi
I am thinking of replacing my ageing mechanical timeswitch for a newer digital programmer. At present the timeswitch operates on a single channel basis as I have a Gloworm boiler which heats the water & rads. I also have an immersion heater with a switch that can be used indepedantly of...

I have a 2.5mm/20A MCB protected radial circuit with 2 double sockets on seperate branches & a 2kW water heater at the final point of the circuit.
Is it possible to add another branch with 3 double sockets on it (i.e. another radial) ?
Regards
Scott
I have wired several lighting points in this way so far but this is not the way the majority of web sites state it should be done :
From the main lighting ring/radial circuit I have connected a junction box with a cable to a switch then from the switch to the ceiling rose.
Is that OK ? If...
