    Emporer Masonry - Base Coat

Interesting, I'm a big fan of Toupret products! Is that essentially like 'filling the whole wall' but say 1-2mm being the goal, and perhaps using a float instead of a filling knife? I'd not trust myself with the front of my house or something, but I could probably give it a go! The surface...

Paint colour for an accent wall in a dark room?

The problem is probably the lighting then - ironically I discussed similar in one of their shops. Also makes a difference what colour it is now in my view. If its say mid grey everywhere in that room then it all being white (or other bright colour) will make it brighter and make the feature...

Paint colour for an accent wall in a dark room?

Oh and I just painted with 'Book Room Green' from them - a lovely colour, perhaps worth a look: https://www.littlegreene.com/book-room-green?gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwjaWoBhAmEiwAXz8DBWMXrqr8VJgDMm6YXIi6FT7GDkgj7Id147JjjqfR_1SslxAkYkdOfhoC94oQAvD_BwE It's probably a bit light for what you want, but...

Paint colour for an accent wall in a dark room?

If you happen to live near a Little Greene shop I would take this in. They can help you find something similar - not just from the two main colour cards either. They have their archive swatches, and they also have their paint and paper library. Should thay not suffice, they can also tweak and...

    Emporer Masonry - Base Coat

Hey everyone, I have a garden room I need to paint - for which I already have the paint - Little Greene Masonry, in Invisible Green!.. The render has had the paint scraped off as it was peeling in places. New windows and doors were fitted too. So.. I have repaired as best as possible, but...

    Masonry repairs and painting

Hey guys, Our summerhouse is being renovated, and as part of this i'll want to repaint the front of it. It's currently painted in a mid grey textured Dulux Trade weathershield. There will be some making good where windows have been made bigger and a couple of cracks to the render. I was...

Paint coming off eith sugar soap and sponge!

Well I'm pretty sure the wall went up about 13-14 years ago so, from what (very little!) I know about distemper, I doubt it's that. Mrs, surprisingly, as its her office, seems keen to try and wash the lot off! I think mist and see where we are regarding filling myself. I don't reckon we'd...

Paint coming off eith sugar soap and sponge!

Hey guys, I've stripped some wallpaper off a wall in our house. It came off *very* easily, as in almost whole drops in one go. Underneath was mostly white emulsion, and some bits lilac (where I guess they had gone over the white before the paper). Wall looked okay, I sanded some lilac bits...

    Mist vs Bullseye 123

Yeah I have done that before but decided to mask this time as they were brand new and I was using a primer and a mist coat of it. D'oh!

    Mist vs Bullseye 123

Excellent. On reflection downstairs we actually have about 40 spotlights (not our doing!) and some are a bit poor where it looks like someone's ripped them out and not done it very carefully. I was going to build up filler and rebuild the hole but I'll look into that. Just ordered some spot drops!

    Mist vs Bullseye 123

Yep, poxy masking tape. Plumbers said to pull the lights down and put in a sandwich bag, but I pulled a bit and met a fair amount of resistance, so didn't want to mess up the perfect holes in the new lid! I think I'll have to pull a bit, then use Gardz on a trimmed out area, thin skim of...

    Mist vs Bullseye 123

Well, I've completed this now... And horror of horrors it's not good news :( The 10% diluted coat went on well, soaking in, drying as I went etc. Another coat at full strength the day later, then two coats of perma white. Just taken the masking tape off the spot lights and peeled some paint...

    New Paint Roller

Yeah 3/8 dove. That's what I have been using on and off this week, seems to work well :) I do like to tinker though, the ice fusion ones from Pro Dec were a firm favourite for a whole - did three rooms in them now I reflect. The paint pickup is too low though, always going back to the paint...

Sticking down lifted silicone - window frames

I shall. We're at sbout 36 hours now and it's still soft and tacky currently painted up to it in the interests of making progress. I think if I said I've got to down tools for 5 days and keep us in a state of limbo my wife would explode lol. We're having our family bathroom redone (the room...

Sticking down lifted silicone - window frames

Well I'm making good progress on this, got my frame sealant in and tooled instead of the manky silicone - it actually looks pretty decent :) The filling first (then priming) looked okay too. Seems it takes an age to cure though, 3-5 days! Not sure if I should treat like caulk and paint...

Dealing with easy peel paint (no mist coat used on fresh plaster)

Ah man that sounds grim. All the bloody little bits get everywhere too! Carpet, skirting etc! Perhaps the WallRock lining paper is a better option? I think you might want to use zinsser Gardz on it first but look into that, it's a hunch from reading about it for other reasons if mine. The...

Sticking down lifted silicone - window frames

Ah I see, makes sense. So Tourpret thinly over the bare plaster to the existing psint, then sand. Paint the reveal white (I'm going to paint the hole room white before painting pale pink, the white will help). Then frame sealant, thin bead. Looking around the house it's a mix really, some...

Sticking down lifted silicone - window frames

So you're suggesting a simple filler as you'd use anywhere else on the walls say to, cover holes from raw plugs, cracks etc? As opposed to a bead of something which at the moment looks to be either acrylic frame sealant or acrylic caulk - I can't actually see a difference between them tbh...

Sticking down lifted silicone - window frames

I've seen the red devil you mention, which I also saw recommended on some decorating you tube video last night coincidentally. https://paintwell.co.uk/red-devil-one-time-caulk-sealant-380ml A very thin bead of that may be enough perhaps. Doesn't look like I'd need an 8mm bead or anything really

    Durable satinwood.. Coloured..

I'd not considered that - ironically mainly because of the yellowing, which obviously doesn't happen if your paint is blue or green lol. The jury is still out. After sewing the seed in my brain I think my wife is back pedaling. I think I need to take a picture and try to recolur some bits in...
