Garage door paint second coat prep

The tin assumes you will paint the second coat the next day. It will be over a month but the Hammerite paint tends to stay quite soft for a long time especially in thicker areas. I guess I will try sanding an inconspicuous area and see how it goes.

Garage door paint second coat prep

Hi, I painted my garage door before it got colder and haven't had time/weather to paint the second coat yet. I used Hammerite garage door paint. When I come to paint the next coat do I just wash it down and paint it or do I need to sand it slightly to make it stick? Thanks

I have found my current tap installation document. It is a Blancoeye bm/5300. There is a brass fitting with backflow prevention valve. Do I need to remove/replace that?

    Replacing kitchen tap. Advice please.

I have a Grohe Ambi tap which I want to install. What do I need to do. Do I need an adapter? I have added a photo in my pipes album. The current tap has copper piping that narrows near the worktop. The new tap has the bendy hot and cold pipes. So presumably I need to remove the top part of the...

Is it okay to put Special metals Primer on painted surfaces?

I have been doing my garage doors, I got most of the paint off the first one which took ages and primed it with Hammerite Special metals primer. There were some bits that I could not scrape off so I sanded down and also primed. I assume that the parts that had the existing paint on will be...

Blockage in cold water pipes fed from cold water tank

Thanks for your help, I could do with a bit more advice on what exactly I would need to do to remove the ball tap. Is it just a case of unscrewing it by hand in the cistern?

Blockage in cold water pipes fed from cold water tank

I have now tried using mains water on the bathroom tap and that seems to have sorted the bathroom tap as that is running okay now, although nothing came back into the tank. However the toilets are still not filling up and I have no idea how to do the same with the toilets or should we try...

Blockage in cold water pipes fed from cold water tank

We have a blockage in our cold water pipes - the tank jacket had fallen into the tank and possibly when it was taken out something was left in the tank and now the cold water pressure upstairs is lower and the toilet downstairs is not filling up at all. How can we unblock the pipes and remove...

We just had our cavity wall insulation done. I noticed a new looking damp patch at the back of a kitchen cabinet that seems to line up exactly with the air brick. What is the best thing to do to prevent the damp? Put a vent in the back of the cupboard in line with the air brick? Thanks

How to paint over stain from cork tile glue

We had the wall plastered after the cork tiles were removed, however the glue stain keeps appearing through the paint. If I paint the wall with gloss paint will this prevent it appearing again?

I have parquet flooring under the current carpet, bits of it have come loose as the glue seems to have gone off. I am having a new carpet put down soon and wondered what to use to stick the loose bits down onto the concrete floor. Thanks
