    Tiling a shower quadrant enclosure

Thanks again for the reply. The outside of the vertical frame jambs were sealed but that sealant has been temporarily removed. When we're done with the pipes, we'll reseal the outside and I'll make sure not to reseal the inside (at least not the jambs)! In the end we had to open up the wall as...

    Tiling a shower quadrant enclosure

The ugly vertical channels have now been filled up with that grey filler, which you can see on either side of the shower! That's where the old enclosure screwed into. I'm thinking it would be difficult to extend the tiles, since the one that's been cut is on the inside rather than the outside...

Plumbing in a concealed shower valve with compression joints

Okay, thanks. It might be that we can re-do that the enclosure this weekend too.

Plumbing in a concealed shower valve with compression joints

Another couple of questions. Would push fit be better than compression joints? Someone else has recommended them. And it looks like the concealed valve itself has a compression fitting (bottom of page 3 of the manual). Is this okay if the other compression joints aren't...

    Tiling a shower quadrant enclosure

Okay, thanks. I'll see how it goes this weekend. The next thing I've realised is that I think my handyman didn't realise the shower enclosure adjusted and installed it on its smallest setting, further into the corner than the previous enclosure, leaving ugly filled vertical channels on either...

    Tiling a shower quadrant enclosure

Hi all, I've been tiling a 800 x 800 quadrant shower enclosure that I just put in with a handyman. The tiling for the previous enclosure was just done over plasterboard on one wall and plywood on the other, so we did the same again. (I wasn't aware of cement/waterproof boards at the time)...

Plumbing in a concealed shower valve with compression joints

Thanks for this. I will see if we can take a couple of tiles off and re-do the joints with solder. We used waterproof tile adhesive but just normal (but decent quality) grout. This one: http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod44012/section173/bal-micromax2-white-25kg.html Do you think this is...

Plumbing in a concealed shower valve with compression joints

Okay, thank you. Would you recommend taking the tiles off and re-doing it or do you think it's safe for now? I'm also interested in what you think of tiling over the old plasterboard/new plywood with waterproof adhesive and grout, versus some other sort of water proofing. Thanks, Matt

Plumbing in a concealed shower valve with compression joints

Hi all, This is my first post and I'd be grateful for some advice. So, I had a leaking 800 x 800 quadrant shower enclosure in my ensuite bathroom so, with the help of a handyman, I've pulled it out along with the base, the old concealed shower valve and all the tiles and have been working to...
