    Fused Double Pole Switch

ha yes typo. Lload = Lout Nload = Nout. Yeah the wiring it itself should be good. Brown Wires to L side, Blue Wires to N side. Originally had a double set of brown wires going to L in the old switch, and double set of blue going to N. Then a single brown going to Lload and single blue going...

    Wired Door Bell

Thanks everyone, there where two neutral blocks in the CU once I checked it. So I made sure to follow the wires from the lighting to the correct neutral block and completed the rest of the wiring and it all seems to be working so I assume the wiring was correct.

    Fused Double Pole Switch

Hello, I need to replace a fused double pole switch but the terminals on the switch are named slightly differently. Am I right in thinking. L-load = Lout N-Load = Lout Also when the neon goes on/off (when switched on off) and the socket turns on off that the switch is connected to it assumes...

When the House Sockets MCB are down (off) the washing machine will stay on, if the Kitchen MCB is down (off) the washing machine socket goes off. Let me go back to the beginning of what happened and keep in mine I think he washing blowing is just a coincidence. 1. The washing machine went to...

    House Sockets Tripped

I am thinking the washing machine is just a coincidence though, if it was the washing machine wouldn't that trip the Kitchen sockets rather than the house sockets? The issue I am reporting more is that when the washing machine blew it tripped the RDC switch and the house sockets MCB. When I try...

    House Sockets Tripped

It wasn't the RCD that tripped again it was the sockets MCB, as soon as I put it up it pops back down but if I pop it up again immediately it takes and everything turns back on.

Hello, My washing machine tripped the RCD today and I noticed my house socket where also tripped, when I went to turn on the house sockets the switch tripped again but let me put it on the second time. Any idea what could be causing that. Strangely the kitchen sockets are on a different fuse...

    Wired Door Bell

Hello, I need to fit a new wired door bell, don't really have the option to go wireless due to the nature of the door bell (don't want to be charging it every other month). So I understand that its possible to wire a door bell to an existing lighting circuit, I just want clarification that I...

    2 Way Switch Problem

Spot on advice its working correctly now. Thanks. What would you suggest to neaten up those wires at the back with the crimps? the outside light isn't used anyway so it doesn't need to go into another switch.

    2 Way Switch Problem

Hello, Not tried it yet but will do this afternoon and report back. I think the mangled mess behind is the outdoor light. What's the best way to neaten that up without reconnecting it? Thanks Sam

    2 Way Switch Problem

The problem has been there since we moved in. There is a light outside the door so I suspect looking at this at one point the switch has controlled both hall and door light or there has been a double replaced down to a single switch.

    2 Way Switch Problem

Hello, I seem to have an issue with a two way switch, lets just say a and b. Here is what seem to be happening... When B is in the off position (which seems to be reversed press up) A can switch the light on and off but B can't switch the light off when A has it on. When A is in the off...

    Double switch to Single?

Hello, I have a double switch in my kitchen, each switch controls one half of my kitchen ceiling lights. Is it possible to take out the double switch and just replace it with one single switch? Thanks Sam
