    Polyplumb 18 bar pressure test

Plastic pipe is awful. Looks dreadful under sinks etc. Can't understand why anyone uses it. I can see the advantages e.g a continuous run across an attic or something. I just hate it when you open an airing cupboard and the spaghetti from lash up pump installs hits you.

How to pressure test / dry test water pipe

Look mate. This is a waste of time unless you have good reason for this nonsense. Fill it up with a hose connected to the lowest point or points. So you can drain in a hurry if need be. Most leaks will be small anyway so I wouldn't be concerned. Fill up a bit at a time if you nervous. we put...

Logic Code Combi es - are they any good?

The guy's clearly a rogue landlord. Stiches the Tennant up with a crap, expensive electric system then encourages them to apply for a freebe. Comes on here to check it out, whilst making out he doesn't want it. He must think we're all daft!!

Logic Code Combi es - are they any good?

Let's be clear. The Government doesn't fund this. We do its added to everyone's bill. I think landlords should pay the money back, if they can't a ford to change the boilers.

    No water in the toilet

The screw you talk about should be horizontal or across the pipe to turn off. In line means it's on.

    No water in the toilet

I wouldn't mess around with that. Go and get a fluid master pro fill valve. Comes with a nice brass thread on the bottom. Remove that thing and replace. Use a sponge to get rid of the water in the bottom of the cistern prior to replacing. Check the water is off before you start.

Dripping noise in loft, any advice?

Asbestos tanks are still common place, although never fitted now. Don't worry about it. The ballvalve is easily repaired. Seriously you ought to stop being so concerned, you can get all this sorted over time. When you do get it replaced just drain, disconnect and leave it where it is.

    Replacing Worcester Boiler Advice

Our firm does mainly private work, we do undertake a small amount of HCRO grant work. The bit that really sticks in my throat is when we fit free boilers to rented property. Landlords don't pay a penny as long as the Tennant qualifies. I've had landlords coming round wanting the earth for free...
