Fitting my own boiler - how much can I DIY

Thanks, it seems that this is the consensus, and the obvious answer if I'd have thought about it for a moment. I wouldn't want to sign of a system that I'd only partially fitted if I were a registered engineer. And, as someone else mentioned, if there was a fault it may be hard to say where the...

On second thoughts, it seems any money I'd save wouldn't be Gotcha. We're all the same. Just a bunch of cowboys. Damn us all! :D

I admire your skill. I wish I could so certainly sum up someone from a one-paragraph question. It would make my life so much easier! :)

Fitting my own boiler - how much can I DIY

Yeah, I thought that may be the case. If I were an engineer, I wouldn't trust the system I'm connecting to to an unknown DIY'er :) I'm just thinking of ways to reduce the price, but you have confirmed my suspicions that it may be easier just to get someone to do it. Thanks.

Fitting my own boiler - how much can I DIY

Before I start, I'm fully aware that a Gas Safe registered person is required for gas work and other related bits, but I still have a question I'm finding it hard to get an answer for. I want a new boiler in a new position. I'm a competent plumber and can do all of the water work myself...

Does altering an "illegal" conservatory require building regs? (UK)

Hi all, We have an "illegal" conservatory, or at least that's how the estate agent sold it to us. It is a 4m x 4m full glass height and polycarbonate roofed conservatory on the back of the house. However, there is no barrier between the house and the conservatory. In fact the entire back of the...

No brick above windows to attach to?

Excellent, thanks. The soffits go back far enough. I made sure they did when I fitted them :)

Side strip for windows on cladded houses

Hi all, The front of my house has cladding on it (tin panels that look like wood overlap). I have two windows at the front that edge on one side edge with the normal brick wall, but the other side and bottom are on the clad section. The clad section has brick behind it, just recessed by about...

No brick above windows to attach to?

Hi all, I'm looking to replace my old single glazing with UPVC. I recently did my soffits and fascias and while I had access to the eves, I noticed that my current windows don't have a brick line above them. The outside wall ends at the same height as the windows and the soffit rests on the top...
