    Prevent further deterioration of wooden Window Cills

    Thanks for the reply and advice @opps. Not sure if the finish is water based, and not not sure how to tell. Based on your advice, I plan to 1. Sand gently to remove flaked paint 2. spot prime 3. touch up with similar coloured water based paint.
