    Totally understood thanks for the help guys, anyways I'm calling a plumber in soon cause the boiler needs servicing so will ask him. How do you know if they are g3 certified? The plumber that I have called, on the gas safe website is certified for unvented cylinders, is that the same as the g3?

    The plumber who the builder employed, hadn't put inhibitor in the system and so there was a build up of sludge, the builder got his men to drain it and clean the rads that were full of sludge.

    again sorry I know I sound like a complete idiot but the builder who we had was very shady and paid off a lot of the inspection, he insists everything is installed correctly and I would need to pay for a plumber to come and see.
