I was just wondering if I could buy some sand from a builders merchants instead. If so,could someone give me a...

    lose lock, advice please!

Dear All; We've been having a bit of difficulty opening and locking our front door lately. What seems to have happened is that the 'euro cylinder' has become loose, such that you can move it a few mm every time you put your key in. To open the door we now have to pull on our key to get the door...

Laminate expansion gap at transition to extension?

I've been a little hesitant to do this as 1) I am not sure how it would come out (any ideas) 2) I don't know what is underneath it(a larger gap, concrete? Again any ideas? And 3) the floor in the conservatory is lower than the original house (would this pose a problem?) Many thanks again! the Mrs

Laminate expansion gap at transition to extension?

Hello all, I am hoping to lay some laminate in lounge, and continuing the flow through into my conservatory, however I am at a loss for what to do at the transition where the lounge flows into the conservatory (please see photo 1). I know I need an expansion gap, the question is how to do it...

    Didn't see concrete post...

Ok, it took me a few weeks to get done, but I finally fixed the crack. It is not beautiful- if I wanted a beautiful finish I would have paid professional to do a nice job, but it worked! :D I ended up using some 'Unibond' epoxy putty and put touch up paint over the top. It is still holding...

    Didn't see concrete post...

Great many thanks all for your help! I will dig out my hair dryer and give your suggestions a try- at least I have a use for my hair dryer now! As for the epoxy, I was out looking for some yesterday, and I saw some of that quick setting, able to withstand heavy weights, moulding putting (sorry...

    Didn't see concrete post...

Fantastic! thanks for this suggestion- something I can do at home (I am rather tight with money:D) I have some touch up paint, do you think that if this was applied thick enough it might be able to disguise the crack?

Thanks for your tip! I will take a look at local services in the area, but am worried it might be a little too big for chips away- you never know until you ask though....

    Didn't see concrete post...

Hello all; While backing to get out a of very tight parking lot, I ran into a concrete post (which was in my blind spot, I wasn't not watching where I was going- I could see the one behind it perfectly!) and cracked the plastic part of my bumper (please see photo). We will soon be driving...

    converting cupboard to sink unit

dear all Firstly happy new year! this is the first time we are putting in a kitchen, and as such we have no idea how to convert an 800mm Howden's under bench unit into a sink unit. We would like to take the back off so we can hide all the pipe work from the sink, does anyone have any tips how to...

What would be the best way to make this gaplook tidy?

Ah yes, a small typo, sorry about that . Although pie collars do exist... I just wouldn't want to put one around a pipe like this as would likely attract mice...

What would be the best way to make this gaplook tidy?

Many thanks! The wall plate sounds like a great idea! (My other half likes plastering a little too much I am afraid so any solution that doesn't involve plaster is a better on from my point of view! haha)

What would be the best way to make this gaplook tidy?

Dear all; We've just had an exactor fan fitted, and are now left with a rather large gap around the pipe where it exits our external wall. Normally I would use decorator's chalk to fill in any gaps, but as you might see from the picture, the gap is rather too wide for it this time! Would it be...
