    Hikvision Wiring...

Looks the job, thank you. As long as I match wires to the correct ethernet wire, then should be ok!

Wired wireless doorbell... does this exist?

How about a Ring? You can get a wired one or the battery version lasts a month on a charge. You can then either have it ring a phone or they do wifi extenders, which are mains plugs but not that bulky & reasonable looking. Its also loud.

    Hikvision Wiring...

OK, as part of a job lot, I have acquired a couple of Hikvision DS-CD273F-I cameras. Unfortunately they were ripped out of a shop refurbishment and when I say ripped, someone cut off the RJ45 female connectors when removing them... So I have a lot of coloured wires, fortunately enough length to...

    Extending BT socket

I suggested that so that if he wants to avoid having a redundant BT box lurking around, he can use a j/box and hide it under the floorboards/where ever..

    Extending BT socket

You could do it yourself... eBay for a Krone Tool and a BT/Telephone Junction Box - both a few pounds. Acquire a length of Cat5/Alarm/Telephone wire, then photograph the BT Master and use the junction box to extend the wire and the picture/Krone Tool to put the wires in place in the Master...

    Its Raining...

That's probably a sensible idea. How do I get a Texecom Wireless PIR to trigger the camera?

    Its Raining...

I've a setup with Hikvision cameras. I want to enable motion detection, so I have done so. Location is remote, so I ask it to send me an email when it detects motion in the drawn areas. It does so, as intended. The problem is that as soon as it rains or snows or whatever, the IR picks up the...

    Cctv kit for domestic use

For lens use this http://polarisusa.com/lens-calculator Dunno about Turbo version but anything that requires BNC + separate power is going to be a lot more faff than IP Another benefit of IP is that you can access your camera from IVMS without going through an NVR if you wanted to.

    Cctv kit for domestic use

Hikvision IP cams are relatively easy to install & are of reasonable quality. As with all things, pay more, better quality but even the lower cost stuff is very good. I have a couple of setups now, each with a Hikvision 7604NI NVR. The one I did last weekend took a couple of hours in all -...

    Wintex Remote Access

Update to that even - its the corporate network that has blocked the port at the corporate firewall. Connected tablet on guest wifi and it was blocked, so used another non-corp network and its fine - pfft...

    Wintex Remote Access

Resolved! Well sort of... Rang up Texecom Support and they'd not heard of the issue. I spent some time hacking around on the laptop firewall but some of it is locked down, so no joy. So I used a Windows tablet and straight in! Obviously work don't want people doing some things with their laptops...

    Hive & Immersion Heater

Obviously Hive is meant to work with Gas/Oil boilers and does so. However, I have an ASHP for HW, controlled via a separate system, with a backup immersion to get it up to temp for killing of Legionnaire bacteria. What I would like to do is to be able to control the Immersion via Hive but the...

    Wintex Remote Access

That's what I thought about settings. Wintex is trying to handshake but not finishing, so that is strange. Yesterday I had the laptop connecting via LAN, then VPN via Office (external IP) and try again, no connection. Drop VPN and via LAN and it was fine again. Repeat (ad nausea). I know VPN...

    Wintex Remote Access

Just set up an Elite 48 running latest software and added a ComIP. I have set up the ComIP & I can access it internally (LAN) via Wintex no problem. I have set up Port Forwarding, again with no issue on the Port selected. I can access the Panel using the Texecom Engineer App via the Internet...
