Best way to fill please ?

So on my DIY travels, I have encountered this very awkward red and extremely flaky plaster. What would be the best product and method to fill gaps of this nature. This plaster has proven extremely awkward and seems to want to crumble even when looked at . Thanks for any help !

    *Wallpapering Query*

Thankyou, kind sir. I feel a lot more confident in the task now. I'm adding extra wood to my stair stringing anyway so I have a lot of leeway. Decorating direct looks like a good site, too. Thanks !

    *Wallpapering Query*

Okay - so, I'm about to/thinking about taking on a difficult wallpapering challenge of vertical-striped paper up and around a staircase underneath a dado rail. As hopefully you've figured, this will require the paper to be cut more or less perfectly angle-wise. Would I be able to cut the paper...

Advice much appreciated on staircase 'restoration'

Thanks for the suggestions - much has been learnt. I've decided to have a carpet fitted eventually; not be because of the dangers but it will probably save me many hours of my life. I think most people can be taught to traverse steps adequately. Wooden steps look fantastic I think.

    Wood staining/waxing/ oiling question..

I appreciate your opinion as you are obviously in the trade and know what you are talking about . Carpet it is then - you are not the first to point out it's not the best of plans.

    Wood staining/waxing/ oiling question..

Apologies to anybody who has read my similar post! Basically my goal is to stain/wax or oil these steps to preferably a dark mahogany sort of colour. Obviously, I don't want the middle to stand out and believe I will not be able to remove all of it (I think it's already oiled or stained ?!) my...

Advice much appreciated on staircase 'restoration'

I am indeed hand sanding ... I've got a lot of spare time and music on my hands currently but it's still a bit depressing . If I could only buy one sort of sander which would be best ? My ultimate plan is to oil/stain shade darker than the middle to hopefully mask any difference. :) I'm...

Advice much appreciated on staircase 'restoration'

so on my DIY adventures I unearthed this wooden staircase under the carpet. I have taken a liking to it so have decided to try and sand it down so it all looks similar before I oil the wood. It's taking a lifetime by hand and is an absolute struggle to get the outter bits the same as the core...

    Skirting board advice needed.

Thanks for these clear answers. That is a hilarious example of what not to do. If anybody has visual examples of what 'to do' that would really help with inspiration. I've had a hunt online but not seen anything similar. Thanks again !

    Skirting board advice needed.

My picture will reveal some very ugly skirting boards I have inherited along my stairs. I have no experience in fitting skirting on stairs; would it be a hard to task to fit new ones myself, would it be worth the effort? Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

    Plastic conservatory roof leak.

I have included pictures to help describe the issue but as pictured you will see a small white pipe which omits water that has not been draining down the roof. I suspect small plants have penetrated the roof between the seams and allowed a nasty leak to occur into the house. Would sealant on the...
