    Light fitting loop connection

The blue wire on this diagram (switch return) is in fact brown on yours. Check that each cable is properly connected into terminals, I had one that had broke just above the bare copper and had to skin it back, then check your bulbs. A tester would be an advantage if still fails after.

Can I plumb a macerator (Sanicompact) in with sink and washing maching?

Yes! https://jpumps.com/shop/all-macerator-pumps/aquabest-3-in-1-macerator/ shouldn't need a one way valve unless the outlet pipe gets blocked, but by then you are going to have a problem anyway. Just toilet paper and normal usage is ok. No paper towelling, condoms or sanitary pads! Ps, washing...

Normally their are 2 consumer units or a split load board for economy 7. The best thing to do is ring your electricity provider...

    New patio questions

If you have drains that take storm water away I would tap into them, you could put a soakaway in but these often fail in heavy rain and especially if your ground is clay and you have a high water table. Failing that build a sump hole and insert a pump with a float valve...

    To plaster or not?

Personally I would render this. If I was you I would expose about 200mm of the brickwork (excavate), run a timber away from the house by 75mm all the way down side of house and fill the whole thing with a sharp sand/ cement mix 4:1 (4 shovels of sand to 1 shovel of cement) I would also add a...

Late in the year for pointing?

Not sure where in the world you are but keep an eye on overnight temperatures for a couple of nights. As long as it doesn't drop below 4c you should be ok. You could add a frost proof chemical to mix but in my experience it turns the mortar white

    Damp patch in loft room

Rain cowl to chimney. If their is a flu fitted inside of chimney (metal ribbed) make sure this has not been fitted upside down. Chimneys need to be able to breath, research ventilation of chimney. This is normally achieved with an air brick to stop condensation on the inside.
