Need help understanding my S-Plan Wiring

Hi Stem, Sorry to ask for your help one last time. I have just been thinking about what you said regarding ignoring the colours of the wiring (in reference to the red / yellow wires going into the thermostat) and have amended the diagram. It seems that the wire connected to terminal 4 of the...

Need help understanding my S-Plan Wiring

I think the conclusion is even though it is working, it shouldn't be so whoever originally fitted it didn't wire it up correctly and I will need to get someone in to sort it out. I appreciate you taking the time to reply and pointing me in the right direction.

Need help understanding my S-Plan Wiring

Hi Stem, Thanks again for the reply. I understand the above diagram and I know that this is how it is supposed to be wired unfortunately whoever installed this system originally has taken a different approach and I want to ascertain how the current setup is working as it does before going...

Need help understanding my S-Plan Wiring

Hi Stem, Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately I have inherited the current setup and in order to correct it I would like to first fully understand the current wiring. In other standard S-Plan wiring diagrams the room thermostats red / yellow wires run to terminals 4 and 5 in the junction...

Need help understanding my S-Plan Wiring

Hi, I recently re-terminated my S-Plan central heating wiring into a new junction box to tidy things up and also to try to understand how it was wired originally before I moved into the property. I have created a diagram of the current wiring and even though the central heating is working...

Boiler Overheating / Pipes extremely hot

Ah ok sorry picture of the boiler wiring below. Also I tried to turn the CH on without the HW and it wouldn't fire up so the programmer must need both to be on for CH to work but HW will work albiet with the problems described in the original post.

Boiler Overheating / Pipes extremely hot

Thanks again for the reply. Unfortunately the tiler decided to seal in the programmer with grout when he did the kitchen but after breaking some of the tiling away underneath to get at the screws I managed to take this photo looking up at the wiring from the bottom of the programmer. Sorry...

Thanks for the reply and clarification about the system :) The programmer is a SIEMENS - RWB29 fitted when I moved into the house 5 years ago. I also put in a new Honeywell room and Hot Water tank thermostat at the same time, the tank thermostat is always set to 50.C

Boiler Overheating / Pipes extremely hot

Update : I just ran the system again for about 10-15 minutes with both CH and HOT Water turned on via the programmer and there was no kettling. The pump was still running very hot but two of the pipes coming into the boiler on the right remained at a fairly low temperature. As soon as a...

In the airing cupboard there are two zone valves and a Pump and in the loft two expansion tanks one...
