Queue in b and q today

I don't get this whole wearing gloves. Gloves should be used for one task and then discarded, not worn for an entire shopping trip. Touching items, trolleys, phone, face, wallet etc. All they are doing is spreading contamination. Be better off just carrying a small bottle of hand sanitizer

    Struggling with mitre cuts

Ok thanks for your advice. Obviously couldn't get my head around it as it's not possible! I'll go for plan b and use small lengths for the corner and then use the correct angle on the end of them. Thanks again

    Struggling with mitre cuts

Hi, Basically, I’m trying to add a dado rail that runs parallel to the staircase. The bit I’m stuck on, is how to cut the two parts that meet in the corner. Hopefully the photo will make sense, but going up the stairs, the incline is 118 degrees into the corner, and then 72 degrees out. The...

Advice on conservatory into room or not so!

I replaced my lean-to conservatory with polycarb roof a year or so ago, using lightweight tiles and two velux windows. Building control were involved but didnt actually ask about the existing footings.

Hanging Shower Screen To Stramit Board

Oh that's handy, even if it's only 6mm thick?

Hanging Shower Screen To Stramit Board

Apologies if this isn't the correct forum I need to hang a glass shower screen onto an internal wall made of stramit board, overboarded with what looks like hardie board. The wall will be tiled. For those not aware what stramit is, it's basically really compressed straw, with paper facing...

    UPVC trim

I was in a similar situation and decided to use frame sealant. So far so good! Looks a lot better than trim

    'Conservatory' Refurb

Thought I'd just upload some final images for completion of the project. Paving relaid and extended, render painted, soffit down lights fitted, and interior fully decorated. Taken a lot longer than expected but finally all done!

    Lean to extension roof

Think I just used 75mm plasterboard screws with washers

    Lean to extension roof

If you’re doing it properly by building regs to get signed off, you’ll probably need to overboard with 40mm Celotex like I did.

    Time to sort the conservatory...

Look what I did to mine last year (it's in projects), albeit mine was different construction to yours. Lightweight tiles, 2x velux windows, 100mm celotex between rafters, overboarded with 40mm. Made a massive difference to the room.

    Should this ceiling have insulation

My single story, mono pitch had 100mm between rafters, overboarded with 40mm. Signed off by building control, so I'd assume you would need the same.

    Lean to Insulation

Same. I doubt they'd be interested anyway as it's not habitable.

Conservatory with downpipe into Water Butt

Can you not connect it to the nearest downpipe like me? Or is it really not feasible? Other than that I think a soakaway is the only option?

Conservatory with downpipe into Water Butt

My set up was the same as yours. When I replaced the roof, building control said that the downpipe would either need to be connected to the existing house drainage, or a soakaway. I had to lift some Indian sandstone paving and dig around to the house. Can you remove the planks closest to the...

    Damp Issues

Good idea thanks, I'll do that before I do anything else as at least it should eliminate damp going through the render/above the DPC.
