you will need the 5 wire wiring diagram and a tester to rewire it correctly, the motorised valve should switch the boiler and the pump on.

The lockshiels valves that leak are the cheap and cheerfull ones, You can buy better ones that have o rings on the shaft that last for years, Tighten the gland nut and put a dummy cap on there to stop people tampering, do not rotate the shaft just incase the system has been balanced properly.

i dont think its the thermocouple, i would say that the primary jet in the pilot is fouled with dust etc, a simple boiler service will sort it out, You should leave the boiler for 10min before trying to relight,

does the pilot light at all? and will it stay lit?

Has the system two motorised valves? it sounds to me that they have wired the valves the wrong way, meaning that they have given priority to hot water, is there a tank thermostat fitted?

remove the copper pipe from teh expansion vessel and stick your little finder in the vessel (nothing else) and the rubber diaphragm should be pressurised and taught, if you cannot feel the diaphragm then it has perished, remove the valve cap, it looks like a car valve and connect a foot pump...
