    Junction box in bathroom

Thus rendering your opinion worthless. :) I asked for opinions about the JB. I got those. Thanks again for those.

    Junction box in bathroom

Zone 3 wasn't meainingless in the 16th. If you've been a sparks long enough, there are many things that may seem meaningless to some 'young' sparks. But that doesn't mean they are. Who knows what 4 star is? Is that meaningless because it's all unleaded with C2H5OH these days? Semantics not...

    Junction box in bathroom

OK, thanks. Sure I could have typed outside zone 2. Names change but zone 3 is still understood. :). Cupboard will eventually be resinstated.

    Junction box in bathroom

Hi, Opinions please on the use of the junction box, under this new ch boiler installation. The boiler is in Zone 3. The 230 supply entering the bottom of the JB, is from a switched fuse spur on other side of the wall outside the bathroom.

WORCESTER 350 COMBI EXPANSION VESSEL ALTERNATIVE NEEDED.

Thanks 'ihavenojob', After 22 years I suppose it could have been condensation. It wasn't that much that came out. And pressure is now pretty stable. Drops a little when the boiler fires up, and slowly increases a little about cold pressure when hot. From what I read about how long exanpasion...

WORCESTER 350 COMBI EXPANSION VESSEL ALTERNATIVE NEEDED.

Re-pressurised the x vessel, metal cap on, and pressure holding. Shrader valve is leaking a bit, but the metal cap with a bit of ptfe (belt and braces) has done the job. Interestingly, although initially there was a little water ejected from the shrader, now only air is expelled. So even...

WORCESTER 350 COMBI EXPANSION VESSEL ALTERNATIVE NEEDED.

Yep cap is the same thread. And by coincidence I happen to have metal caps on a classic car I have. I'd forgotten. Put one on the x vessel today with a bjt of ptfe for extra sealing. Bit of soapy water now not showing any bubbles. Next job is to put an external vessel in the system. It's a...

WORCESTER 350 COMBI EXPANSION VESSEL ALTERNATIVE NEEDED.

Hi, I've got shrader valves and a key - been cycling for 50 yesrs. . But when I look into the valve on the x - vessel, there doesn't seem to be any removal notches. I'll have another look though. If you say it's posible, that'll be a big help. Thanks.

WORCESTER 350 COMBI EXPANSION VESSEL ALTERNATIVE NEEDED.

Ah right, thanks Alec. But it is only a dribble, and the vessel does accept a recharge, albeit it loses it over a week or three. So my thinking was that the diaphragm isn't split, just kind of porus. Really I know I have to replace the 350 with a modern boiler. But it's a bigger job than just...

WORCESTER 350 COMBI EXPANSION VESSEL ALTERNATIVE NEEDED.

Hi there, thanks. I did think of that, but the vessel is leaking a bit through the schrader valve. Not much, but it can only get worse. All that holds back the leak is the plastic cap on the schrader. I could seal it with something, but when the diaphragm eventually lets the full system...

WORCESTER 350 COMBI EXPANSION VESSEL ALTERNATIVE NEEDED.

Hi there, I have a worcester 350. The expansion vessel, part number 87161425060, is obsolete and I can't find anyone with stock. So I need to fit an external vessel fitted instead. The size is 10 litres and there are plenty to choose from. Easy enough. However, the original expansion fitting...

Cenral heating boiler -- SERVICE. Should cleaning be included?

"The extent of the service required by the appliance is determined by the operating condition of the appliance when tested by fully qualified engineers." Hi D hailsham, Yes I guess that sums it all up then. The whole thing is a grey area. Even that part " -- when tested by fully qualified...

Cenral heating boiler -- SERVICE. Should cleaning be included?

Hi wildcat, No I've never asked them to do anything specifically in a service, I just assumed -- wrongly clearly -- that a service includes cleaning. I've not actually been there when the servicing has been carried out. So I don't know what's inside the combustion chamber in terms of dirt and...

Cenral heating boiler -- SERVICE. Should cleaning be included?

Hello, "snb", I wasn't aware that my posts would annoy anyone. It certainly wasn't my intention. The way I write is the way I think. I've re-read my previous posts, and I honsetly can't see how I could have caused offence or annoyance to anyone. HOWEVER, -- If my posts have annoyed people then...

Cenral heating boiler -- SERVICE. Should cleaning be included?

I'm sorry you think it's a wind up, and disappointed that you should think it is. I assure you it's not. I simply posted here for some advice, hopefully from experts, because I am not a boiler service engineer. Two other posters earlier on, posted their own concerns about boiler services they...

Cenral heating boiler -- SERVICE. Should cleaning be included?

As Gas appliances are all so strictly regulated these days, as regards who and what can be done to them in terms of installation, service and repair, isn't there a list of some kind, an official list, that says what constitutes a full service. Isn't there any official check list for gas...

Cenral heating boiler -- SERVICE. Should cleaning be included?

OK, thanks. Is there any risk that some of the debris could itself catch fire inside the combustion chamber?

Cenral heating boiler -- SERVICE. Should cleaning be included?

Hi Dan, OK, thank you. At least one of my concerns is valid then. Can you tell me what potential problem the dirt inside the combustion chamber could cause?
