The cost online for this boiler works out approx £700 (inc VAT) so he is adding £1300 on top. I thought it was dear but there is mixed reactions.

The plumber said he will need to join about 3 pieces of flue to reach the roof. Yes this price includes a new gas pipe from the meter and he did mention about cleaning out the central heating system but not a power flushing machine. Thanks for your replies.

I'm like you and have a back boiler which is noisey and would love to change it, so a guesstimate on changing it for a condensing boiler would be appreciated. My only thought on expense would be if the flooring (carpets etc) to get to the pipes etc will need to come up.

What setting do you have it. Mine is about 2 but takes forever to heat up the CH.

They may not be connected but it sometimes feels like one knows what the other is doing! Maybe you can answer this - if the temp setting is low on the boiler, will it take longer to heat the CH?

Dont listen to them telling you its not guaranteed anymore. The boiler was guaranteed when the fault accured. If they have not fixed this then they are still liable to do so. If there is no response then warne them with a solicitors notice. You are well within the law - believe me.
