Which wires go to my programmable thermostat?

Yeah that's fine, as stem said we'll move the TRV. His room is the coldest so we don't want the heating clicking off with the current location of the stat and his room to still be cold. Which I appreciate stems from a fundamental issue with the heating system.

Which wires go to my programmable thermostat?

Yeah we will do that. It's not an immediate issue as our room also doesn't heat up particularly well. The joys!

Which wires go to my programmable thermostat?

There's a few problems with the wired one though: 1. The relay click is ridiculously loud. Like twice as loud as the click on the normal hive receiver. Not great in the middle of the night. Never quite heard a thermostat like it. 2. Even though it's a new build and the heating has been balanced...

Which wires go to my programmable thermostat?

It's all Hive. What we were told is that now there's thermostats that utilise the existing wiring now rather than having a separate mains voltage receiver. Essentially just another programmable thermostat that connects to their app? The downside is that they are fixed to the wall and cannot be...

Which wires go to my programmable thermostat?

Hi Ian. There is, according to the engineer and customer services, it's a newer model and apparently only available directly through British Gas. Hey stem, that's the preferred method. Customer service agent said that the engineer said he couldn't trace the wires at the wiring centre and so...

Which wires go to my programmable thermostat?

Hi guys, After some (hopefully simple) help here. I had a thread yesterday about a lazy Hive install by British Gas - which stem really helped me with yesterday. According to customer services, the installation engineer is fairly defensive about his install, so just wanted to clarify the...

HIVE Multizone - move upstairs stat?

Thanks. House is only 1.5 years old so hopefully everything is tidy-ish in there. Boiler is quite a bit away from the water tank, so looks like I'll be asking them to install it at the wiring centre on the water tank!

HIVE Multizone - move upstairs stat?

Sorry mate you must be pulling your hair out with me  That's what the engineer said about the upstairs thermostat - no mains power but I'm assuming wiring to control the valve at the hot water tank? Does the wiring center at the hot water tank have the ability to provide power for...

HIVE Multizone - move upstairs stat?

Apologies for the double-quote, but it won't let me re-edit my previous post :( The upstairs previous room thermostat was a programmable one, so I don't think there was ever an additional receiver. But I was under the impression that a hive receiver could potentially be wired into the wiring...

HIVE Multizone - move upstairs stat?

Thank you. That is what we had bought; Dual channel receiver for downstairs to control the hot water and heating with a wireless thermostat and we had an additional wireless thermostat with single channel receiver to control radiators upstairs. Hot water and downstairs heating is working fine...

HIVE Multizone - move upstairs stat?

Hi stem, thanks very much for the response. As with the majority of these posts, I should have included more information in my first post. The system does have motorised valves on a hot water tank; hot water is controlled by the downstairs thermostat (that has the receiver right next to it in...

HIVE Multizone - move upstairs stat?

Hi all, after a quick bit of help with Hive here. Had multi-zone installed yesterday by British Gas. 1 receiver and thermostat downstairs in the hall. The previous programmable thermostat was a Danfoss TPOne-M – powered by mains. We had requested during installation that these wires be...

    Conservatory external doors

Hi all, Looking for a little help. I have a conservatory that failed a letter of comfort for not having external doors between it and the house. The doors are solid wood with glass panes are a very poor fit in the frame. Because of this, they failed the thermal part of the building regs. I've...

    Plinth lights question

Hey chivers, Thanks for the response. Please forgive my total ignorance, but what is driver driven? And if they are, I'm guessing it's not an option?

    Plinth lights question

Hi guys, Quick question on plinth lights. In my house right now, we have under cabinet lights and plinth lights that work off the same switch, which is what the mrs likes. We're moving to a new build soon and although they show plinth lights in the attached picture, they're not actually an...
