    Extractor is this faulty

I have the same model, and gave up on it, as timer didn't seem to work. You say you connected L and T, but that looks like a repurposed earth wire in T, and I don't see a bridging wire between L and T in that picture. Were you using a three wire Live, Neutral, Earth, cable with a bridging wire...

Just put the ptfe tape under the small gland nut then you mean?

    Leaking Stopcock

Did you read my reply to him? I was told by the landlord that there's no external stopcock. If I try that without cutting off the water supply it will flood the place. Do have a freeze kit but because the pipes are so close to the wall I would have to somehow improvise to be able to use it or...

    Leaking Stopcock

I'm not ignoring advice. I'm explaining the problem as best I can and seeking clarification. Like I just asked if the stoptap should be open before I attempt to tighten the nut again. Should it be? Thanks for your patience and replys.

    Leaking Stopcock

Why does it only leak when the stoptap is on? I was thinking opening the tap before attempting to tighten the small nut at the top of the tap again might help? When I tried to tighten it previously I had the tap off.

I was told by the landlord that there's no external stopcock. If I try that without cutting off the water supply it will flood the place. Do have a freeze kit but because the pipes are so close to the wall I would have to somehow improvise to be able to use it or chisel out behind the pipework...

    Leaking Stopcock

Tried to tighten the small gland nut and it just made the leak worse. Are you supposed to turn it clockwise?

    Leaking Stopcock

It only leaks when I turn it on is the first relevant point. I searched google and youtube and it seems people advise putting ptfe tape round the threads. Secondly it only effects the cold water supply. Thirdly the landlord claims there's no external stopcock and whoever installed it put it so...

    Expelair VX100T timer query

Ok...my sarcasm senses are tingling... so the earth wire shouldn't be connected at all? Do you have any suggestions for what kind of fan will run on the existing wiring and not run continuously?

    Expelair VX100T timer query

Thanks for your input everyone. It does seem that a timer fan will not run on the wires I have as has been said, but here is the wiring diagram from the manual.

    Expelair VX100T timer query

The previous fan used to switch on and off with the light with a few minutes delay. I appreciate the responses, but from the pic I posted can anyone tell me how to actually wire this so the timer works or is it not possible with this model of fan?

    Expelair VX100T timer query

Ok, the blue wire is the neutral... but the source I quoted says that it is the switched live. What is the obvious that you are leaving aside?

    Expelair VX100T timer query

"The brown wire is Live (also know as permanent live), this brings the live supply to the switch. The blue wire is known as the Switched Live and takes power to the light. Switched Live is only live when the switch is on (this is where it gets its name from)."

    Expelair VX100T timer query

Trying to get the timer working on an Expelair VX100T. There's a single live, a neutral, and earth cable from the socket the previous fan was wired to. Wiring the live to the L on the new fan causes it to run continuously. Wiring the live to the T causes the fan to switch on and off with the...
