Bungalow 'ringing' after fibre installed in street

Ok, thanks. Ref SMPS power supply, apparently EMI/RFI can be produced due to the current being switched on and off sharply. Therefore, EMI filters and RF shielding are needed to reduce the disruptive interference.

Bungalow 'ringing' after fibre installed in street

The 'tinnitus' comes on when there and goes when I am not, albeit it can stay with me for sometime afterwards and take some time to go.

Bungalow 'ringing' after fibre installed in street

I will look into that, thanks, because my utility provider doesn't seem interested in discussing the issue. I may raise an interference issue once I have exhausted the issue with my ISP, which I think I have because I can't see them giving me any more visits from BT. As far as they are...

Bungalow 'ringing' after fibre installed in street

Thank you. Right before a lot of it there were Fibre works done in the pavement at the end of my drive, the rest of the street seem to be taking the Fibre along the pylons overhead. My bungalow and next door the Fibre is not overhead but underground. I feel a bit better at my few doors down...

Bungalow 'ringing' after fibre installed in street

Electrics? I am sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I am trying to get back to living in my (80's built) bungalow but it is 'ringing' and I am not able to get any sleep there now or spend any length of time in it without hearing the ringing after a while. This started since Fibre street...

    Fall through the ceiling

Been there, except I fell through and landed up on the bathroom floor, after feeling 'lucky' I had landed in the only area on the floor that didn't have the washbasin, loo, bath, or shower I found I was straddling the electric cables! Got a local plasterer to quote and he sorted it out for me...

    Overflow sorted, now won't flush

Just turned the cross head screw, as I had done many times before, but this time I flushed the toilet in between turning it all the way up and then down again, so I could gauge exactly the result, and the level is NOW BACK TO HOW IT SHOULD BE; brilliant! It was so simple! (but not for me), and...

    Overflow sorted, now won't flush

Yes, thanks, the screw is at it's limit to get the water as high as it can go. I tried that 1st. The water level is significantly lower since the new flat valve from the overflow pipe than it was. I expected it be at the black mouldy limescale line again but it's much lower, about 2inches below...

    Overflow sorted, now won't flush

Ok, thanks, it flushes fine when I hold down the float valve to let the level raise a little more just over the float. So how can I get the new float valve to do it's job of letting the water go that little bit higher? It seems that's all that's needed?. So the siphon may have been incorrectly...

    Overflow sorted, now won't flush

Ok thanks, that's the green capped part..? (Excuse my poor terminology and understanding, and thanks so much for the help!). Could that have been the problem all along. i.e could it cause the cistern to keep filling?.

    Overflow sorted, now won't flush

Can anyone help. Recently had an overflowing toilet cistern, (2 days ago), the toilet was flushed and the cistern level kept rising, I tried lifting the float/valve (sorry, I don't know the correct name) but the water didn't stop gushing out of the outside overflow toilet pipe. I had to call a...
