Part of my back garden is on a lower level and is triangular shaped, and I have been looking at removing the grass/lawn and putting in a compact gravel path or similar?. As it will be very little used with just light foot traffic, does the said path need 75mm of sub base and 50mm of gravel...

No there wasn't any earthwire in the orange cable and now was there an earthwire in the light cable. It is a white cable extended by the black one. Yes the black had an earth wire, but the white one from the light itself did not

Yes it could be so I used 2 way to get the led working as well.

You don't have to shout. If you say only 1 live , fair does , but I know there is 2.

Yes I realised that afterwards and 1 live is in com and the other live is in L2 / 2 way. The led is on when the light is off, but is a good thing.

I checked the fuse with an analogue meter and it was zero ohms on that. I am now getting that the light is always on and not switchable to off when I have the 2 lives into com, and both neutrals into a choc block.

Thanks, so I have wired it correctly. I'll put a meter across the wires etc tomorrow morning to check there is continuity.

No, and I have just checked it and get a reading of around 5.4 ohms on a fluke meter on the 3 amp fuse

I have a B&Q Dial 2 way outdoor switch as per the picture. I have 1 4ft batten led light in the garage, and I want the switch near the garage door. There is a wire from the light to the switch, and another wire from a plug, into a double mains socket, also to the switch. I have then 2 lives...
