    Air Con

Thank you. The main reason i was going for air con was its tidy, on the wall and not some hot bulky thing on wheels in the middle of the floor. 2 of them is going to be interesting but i will see how this winter goes. I remember -18 a few years ago, it will be interesting to see what happens...

    Air Con

I think given all the comments and the costs, ill stick with the oil radiators. I have 1 other that is in my hallway, which i plan to replace with a wall mounted heater running off a FCU spur. That will give me 2. They both cost me around £40 for the two so that and the electricity used will...

    Air Con

Hi all, I assume this fits best on this forum. I am thinking about upgrading the heating in my office(log cabin) to an air con unit. Something like...

    LEDs off campervan leisure battery

Hi yes I understand that these are going to draw much from the battery. At least not before my split charger recharges it. I just don’t get how you read about needing resisters but these don’t need them..

    LEDs off campervan leisure battery

Hi all not sure if this is the correct area. Hopefully it is. I'm installing some 12V LEDs in my camper and plan to run them off my leisure battery 12V. I keep reading that i need to calculate the required resister to avoid blowing the led. however, i'm also reading that people just run them...

Convert 110v LED Site lamps to use on 240v plugs

https://imgur.com/4cuiM6K I read it that the input can take 240V. It looks to me that the second image shows an emergency module that charges the batteries up, i guess to provide lights in event of no power.

Is there something that can measure what power the cabin is using? Like a module that sits in the CU?

    Log Cabin Electrics

Thanks all! Kitchen load varies. It’s the washing machine that seems like it’s on forever(young kids). Dishwasher always late at night. Kettle, again throughout the day. Not much else. Random uses of toasters, wisks etc but very rare. I guess the RCD is part of the CU anyway. At least from...

    Log Cabin Electrics

Ok so I have attached an image of my CU in my house. The B32 MCB labelled kitchen sockets is the ring that feeds the sockets in the kitchen. We had an extension which is the kitchen and the electrician ran the sockets in the extension on this B32 MCB. He ran a spur off one of the double...

    Log Cabin Electrics

Can I ask. You said about the RCD protection would come from the garage CU if it’s on it’s own supply. Does that mean the garage CU RCD would serve no purpose in the setup they have suggested, using the 32A ring as the supply? If so I don’t get why they have included this in the price at all.

    Log Cabin Electrics

Yes I took pictures. Always do of anything I work on. I’ll ask them to run it back to the main section in the house.

    Log Cabin Electrics

Thanks. You hit the nail on. The head. Big difference to it being safe and being safe and correct installation. Shame they don’t get the regs to force good work!

    Log Cabin Electrics

Hi all, I have a log cabin built in the garden and am trying to get an electrician to come and wire up some electrics to the cabin. Who would have thought it was so hard to get people to respond to a job....maybe this is too small a piece of work? Anyway. I am slightly confused by the suggested...

    Warm roof on log cabin

Nice one, will do! Mate has some breathable felt, guess that can’t hurt as a backup for any possible leeks. It’s a low pitch.
