    Is adding an extra storey or two to a residential detached house permitted development? If so why aren’t people going about doing so. Can I add 2 floors of 3.5m each to the first floor of my detached house without any planning permission. Keeping roof the same. Thank you

    Yes, the neighbours on one side is their garages and the other is their side wall with no windows so not sure how that applies here I am thinking of putting an offer on it and property is in an area where you cannot change the brick work. So trying to figure the worst case scenario

    Dear All, I was thinking of extending this rear wards 2 storey or single storey but don't think it's straight forwards. Boundary to the right is on the line and the left is 1m, detached property. Garden is over 100ft. Would appreciate your thoughts and any sketches on the attached. Many Thanks!

    Thanks, I was thinking of doing this, but was afraid as the tray is 40mm thick and cracking?? Behind this tray, to the front of it and to the sides are 6mm floor tiles and they haven’t cracked??? I will check the crack to see if it widens or contracts on loading- excellent point thanks

    About an year ago the plumber installed this brand 900mm tray on a bed of mortar https://www.showerstoyou.co.uk/ultra-pearlstone-900mm-square-shower-tray/ Wooden joists, and osb floor. Floor surrounding is tiled on cement boards and not cracked, so doubt floor is flexing. what is the solution...
