Our step has sunk - is it a straightforward repaire

Thanks. I don't know. We moved in 12 years ago and they were laid long before that. I assume it's just been wear and age that has caused it

Our step has sunk - is it a straightforward repaire

I have just seen that the top step leading to our front door has sunk and pulled away from the doorstep, as well as from the sidewall. Is this a straightforward repair for someone? I don't think there is anything untoward or more suspicious happening here (eg subsidence). Presumably it needs...

Showers - are these reliable manufacturers?

Thank you Madrab - yes the Cubico shoreviews aren't great. Which trays do you favour? (slim, not slime!) In terms of the shower unit, I am prepared to pay for a good quality, high pressure thermostatic shower bar with a fixed waterfall head and a hand shower. I can see the hasngrohe and grohe...

Is this indication of lime reaction

A few weeks ago I asked for advice on this bubbling paint and you kindly suggested it was a lime reaction to vinyl Matt emulsion So I stripped back the paint yesterday to apply a coat of Guards and this is what lies behind the blistered paint. There seems to be a darker spot within the...

    Blistering paint mystery

So I stripped back the paint yesterday to apply a coat of Guards and this is what lies behind the blistered paint. There seems to be a darker spot within the plaster. Does this confirm the view above that this is a lime reaction with the emulsion in this particular patch?

    Blistering paint mystery

I have a small patch of blistered paint from where the room was repainted last year. The previous paint ( which was on for about a decade was also blistered in exactly the same way. Can anyone guess what the issue may be and a remedy? This is an interior wall and the plaster is old. Behind the...

    Repairing a chipped amtico tile

My mum has just dropped a plate on her 20 year old amtico tiles and has caused a chip which she is very upset about. Is there any way the chip can be filled and repaired? If I can fill it then I'll try to paint it as carefully to match and disguise it as possible? Many thanks
