Ikea Renlig DW60 washing hot, but not drying

Thank you - very helpful and appreciate the offer! All seemed to be well since my last post until I noticed an unusually loud humming coming from it the other day and it's not getting up to temperature again (confirmed by Bluetooth thermometer). I'll start with the relay.

Ikea Renlig DW60 washing hot, but not drying

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on this one - really appreciated. It does appear to be an intermittent fault, as a 70 degree wash today seemed to work; I used a Bluetooth thermometer to test it (and also noted steam escaping at the end of the cycle): On that basis I think @SpecialK is...

Karndean tiles lifting at joints - how best to fix?

Perhaps the easiest fix would be to try and use an adhesive to re-attach the original floor and newer screeding compound - any recommendations for what might be a good product for that, please?!

Ikea Renlig DW60 washing hot, but not drying

So if it heats the water to wash (steam when opened mid-cycle) but doesn't dry any more (no steam, stone cold at end of cycle), what's the problem?

Ikea Renlig DW60 washing hot, but not drying

I think it might need more knowledge and experience than I can give it unfortunately. Looking at spares, assuming the details are correct, there are two heating elements in this model: It is not clear what each does. This video talks about the replacement of the former fixing a cold water...

Ikea Renlig DW60 washing hot, but not drying

Thank you. Presumably this one for the dryer: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283826857420. No doubt situated somewhere that means the integrated dishwasher needs to be removed to get at it!

Ikea Renlig DW60 washing hot, but not drying

Hi all, My Renlig DW60 (underneath an Electrolux 911D53-0L, which I believe is also known as a F35020VI) has stopped drying - there is no hot air escaping when you open the door at the end of the cycle and the contents are cold and still quite wet. However, if opened mid-cycle then steam does...

Karndean tiles lifting at joints - how best to fix?

I think it's just concrete from the original (70's) build. It looks like it's been coated with something by the installers for it to have the colour in the first photo, though. I have vague memories of some sort of black coating/adhesive before installation - you can (I think) see remnants of...

Karndean tiles lifting at joints - how best to fix?

Hi all, The Karndean flooring in my porch is lifting around the corner joints in particular: This is a south-facing glass porch that needless to say is exposed to extreme temperature differences. I think the floor was installed in 2015 or 2016. You can see I've lifted the worst-affected...

    Strange damp pattern

Thanks to everyone for your helpful replies. It's been over a month since the repair now and the wall is currently looking fairly dry. Quite a difference to last weekend (above).

    Strange damp pattern

Thanks Andy; good idea. In the meantime, this photo pre-drainage repair is maybe a useful comparison: Other than the mortar covering the DPC having dried out a bit, they look pretty similar to my eyes, unfortunately.

    Strange damp pattern

Thanks ^woody^! Quite possibly - the walls are indeed insulated - the white fluffy stuff rather than the beads. Was it optimistic to think this might have all dried out in the month after the source of water was eradicated? The drainage people said it'd be dry in a few days, but it honestly...

    Strange damp pattern

Hi all, Because of this damp, about a month ago I had a problem with the internal soil pipe to clay drain connection diagnosed - there was also damp around the soil pipe inside the property - and repaired (joint dug out and completely replaced). This is where the new paving slab is. I was...

uPVC window interior seals and gaps

Great! Thanks. Any recommendations for sealants that are best suited to this job? I have some brown Everbuild 450 that I've used for some external resealing that seemed to be recommended. Would backer rod to fill the (currently small) gaps behind the sealant help with heat retention etc.?

uPVC window interior seals and gaps

Hi all, Interested in thoughts on what's going on with my uPVC windows (70's house, windows are about 17 - 20 years old from memory of the paperwork the came with the house). As per the photo below, all of the windows first appear to have moved away from the wall, suggested by the broken...
