    Neutral-Earth Voltage 120V

Next step is to check floating earths on other outlets. House is almost 100yrs old...although I have lived here 30yrs and first time I have tested the earth. The light fitting is in a ceiling below loft and I realised I removed the water tank and pipes in loft a few years ago - maybe the earth...

    Neutral-Earth Voltage 120V

I'm decorating my upstairs bedroom and decided to replace the light fitting (it's been there for 25yrs). I disconnected the old fitting which was only connected to live and neutral. (See pictures below). I checked the voltages and noticed the neutral- earth voltage was 120V which doesn't look...

    Small Fence in Front Garden

I was considering railings - I agree - solution is to get the 'lift' of rubbish too high

    Small Fence in Front Garden

By fly-tipping I mean building work rubble, bags of garden soil (from someone doing garden work I assume), bin liners of food and rubbish (from new year). I agree chicken wire will be an eye sore so decided against that idea.

    Small Fence in Front Garden

Thanks everyone - appreciate the useful advice. I've replied to each of you below: I realised the spacing is too wide so probably not a good idea Something to think about Trellis looks good...assume I would attach that to wooden posts fly tipping I'm getting is building rubble, soil from...

    Small Fence in Front Garden

I need to build a small fence in my front garden to stop fly tipping from the main road. I've attached picture taken from the road - see picture attached. I was thinking of inserting a wooden post by each of the brick pillars and attaching a wire mesh using a nail gun. Not done this before so...

Brickwork painting - not sure if I need to use

Repainting old exterior brickwork - see pictures. Has some algae/mould that I managed to scrape off. Noticed some moisture on bricks under paint in first picture. Not sure if I need to use a fungicidal wash ( Everbuild 404) before I seal with some 406 and paint with Weathershield. Any advice...

    Changing Copper Olive on TRV

Thanks for the advice - good point. I also have a monument olive removing tool I bought a while ago - assuming it's better than the hacksaw

    Changing Copper Olive on TRV

It is PTFE tape - just removed it. Will clean joint surfaces and put on some new PTFE tape.

    Changing Copper Olive on TRV

I'm trying to figure out if I need to remove this white stuff or put the PTFE over it

    Changing Copper Olive on TRV

Tried backing nut off half turn and re-tightening but that didn't work. Took off valve and it looks like white PTFE already used before. Is that correct? (see pictures below).
