    maximum layers on ceiling

    What is the maximum layers of plaster i can have on a ceiling? Currently there has been four layers but the old plaster is in a bad state so i want another two new skimmed plaster on top of the old. I am worried if there are two many layers the ceiling won't be able to hold it.

    Bubbles in plaster

    I had a ceiling skimmed over paint and noticed bubbles when the plaster dried. Blue grit was applied on the paint before the skimming. Any solutions to this problem? Would sanding the plaster get rid of the bubbles? See attached picture.

    I have painted ceilings but want to reskim them. What is the best way to do this, Remove all the paint and then skim or skim straight over the paint? If skimming over paint what is the best way to this?

    Gaps between skirting and floor

    I got my house renovated and the builder instead of scribing the skirting boards, levelled them instead and screwed them to the wall. So now I have the 1 inch gaps in some parts of the bedrooms.

    I have 1 inch gaps between the skirting board and floors, what is the best way to fill these gaps without taking the skirting boards off and scribing them. Would expanding foam do the job? Any other suggestions?
