    Running UFH pump

From my own experience having UFH in a pug screed I would say your best to just run it 24/7 as if it’s a slab that may well take a long time to be heated.

@oilhead Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of the 2 separate controls. Do you have any info with regards to my question? Thanks

    WB Heatslave 2 DHW control

Hi all, Got a WB heatslave 2 combo boiler and have a question with regards to the DHW controls on the boiler control panel. When its set to a lower setting, i.e setting 2 does this mean that the DHW flow temp is lower in the store, therefore it will fire more often to replenish, then say if the...

Carpenter messed up all door frames

Looks like 15mm lippings then. So you could possible trim this off the top and bottom and screw/glue this to the base. So could maybe make good 2 doors from each door bought. French polisher could probably make it good after it's all glued up and gone off.

Carpenter messed up all door frames

Are they fully solid doors? Was thinking you could get another door and cut the required amount off and glue that on? If they're solid you could even make a clearance hole for the screw, and then the screw head and screw as well as glue them on. You can get fire adhesive to maintain compliance...

    Oil tank slab

Hi all, Need to pour a concrete slab for an oil tank installation that's booked in for about 4 weeks from now. Am I right in thinking I can use the type 1, mixed with building sand and cement for the concrete pour? Or do I need to get ballast instead and mix that with the cement? Thanks

    Boiler stat issue?

@oilhead That is the electrical schematics for the S Plan for this system. Wunda is the UFH controller, HS is the hub switch which allows the UFH controller and thermostats to connect to the internet, TDC is the temperature difference controller that monitors the 2 thermostats in the buffer and...

    Choosing a Laser Level (Ed.)

I've currently got an Imex LX3DG, but used to have a PLS180. Bought the Imex a couple of years ago but if I was to have to replace the Imex I'd do so with something from PLS again.

    Boiler stat issue?

@oilhead My thought was that the boiler stat was taking priority over the buffer stats. And so they would turn the boiler on or off depending on if they are satisfied providing there is a call for heat. But how to bypass the internal boiler stat and rely on the buffer stats is an unknown. There...

    Boiler stat issue?

@oilhead Yes it does have a heat store however the controls for this is off. The house is unoccupied and when there is someone here it's to work, which doesn't require hot water. So I don't think it's the heat store it's firing up for, especially every 45-60mm mins. I do believe the boiler stat...

    Boiler stat issue?

I’ve got a Worcester external oil combi which feeds a buffer vessel which in turn feeds my UFH systems. On my buffer vessel I have 2 thermostats which monitor the temp of the vessel and this info is displayed on a Grant GSX1 controller. The control is currently set for an on temp of 45° and an...

Foam adhesive and use a second fix gun is what I do with skirting against plasterboard. Plug and screws with foam adhesive against solid walls.

Bathroom fan turning on via PIR

@EFLImpudence The 2 browns going into L2 are the feed in to the isolator and feed out to another switch on my lighting circuit. There’s supposed to be a second blue neutral, but I just forgot to put that in. I think to reduce the amount of connections in the back box I’d like to stick with the...

Bathroom fan turning on via PIR

So redone the drawing and now looking like this taking into account the L & SL link. I’ve done the drawing using the cables I would use, hence the shading around cables I’ll be sheathing. Does this look correct?

Bathroom fan turning on via PIR

Hi @Harry Bloomfield Just checked the manual for the PIR and it notes the photocell range is 100 to 1000 lux, and inactive.

Bathroom fan turning on via PIR

Hi @aptsys , thanks for your reply. I have already bought the fan which has a timer built in. Had I thought/known that this and the PIR would clash over the timer, I would have purchased the non timer version. I did think early on in this thread to have the PIR set to 10secs then set the fan to...

Bathroom fan turning on via PIR

Hi @EFLImpudence , Here is my updated drawing. I didn’t include it earlier as I was waiting on your responses to my questions so I could amend the drawing if needed. One question I have is with regards to the PIR & fan switch lives. Am I correct in thinking that although it’s the PIR that...
