    Vapour barrier or not

I will be using fibreboard underlay which doesn't have any moisture barrier built in. Yes have airflow. The floorboards do seem slightly indifferent in places like warped and discoloured but dry

    Vapour barrier or not

Thanks. I didn't really think of the liquid option but either way I am unsure of the rest of the room. Is it worth it? I already have the roll which won't be going back as I've already cut a section for elsewhere. Just worried about condensation.

Hi all. I am laying some laminate flooring on to a suspended wooden ground floor living room which has a small concrete/ screeded area attached to the end of one side of the room. I've brought a vapour barrier sheet for this but wanted to know whether I should cover the entire room. My floor is...

    DPC Query, wetroom

Hi All. We would like to refit a downstairs shower room to a wetroom. The old shower tray is over 100mm high from memory. The waste is just over the DPC from the pic. Is there any way a new waste pipe system can be set lower to allow for a wetroom or even a lower shower tray to be fitted without...

Best plaster for salt damaged wall/vent

Thank you Godwasaplasterer I'll have a think about best option. A friend has also recommended similar. 9.5mm plasterboard using Drygrip adhesive then finishing. I'd still want to apply some salt inhibitor first I reckon.

Best plaster for salt damaged wall/vent

Hi all. Salt build-up from chimney. Need to identify best DPC or ideally plaster I should use before finishing with multi finish. Also is a vent ok in the middle of a bricked up chimney? I forgot to add when I started bricking! Thanks

Plastering a wall recovering from damp

Hi I'm in a similar position. I am allowing at least a week to air out as they will have a lot of moisture. This is not a scientifically proven time but a best guess! I'd be interested to hear others views.

    Ceiling scrape or paint?!

Morning All. I have 10 year old silk on my ceiling. I'm removing wallpaper from walls and part of the ceiling paint is peeling off from the sides as I do this. I will paint ceiling anyway with matt but I'm not sure whether to continue peeling the silk or leave it on and use a primer like...

    Gaps to fill

Hi All. We have had a new front porch extension and I need to finish off inside flooring. Do I need to seal any of the gaps in these pics where skirting will go? Also the old joining section has some bigger gaps underneath where the floor meets the joists. I want to seal all tiny gaps to stop...
